my biggest issue with cowis that he repeatedlyhas made comments after comment on active tourney and league games. To me it is every bit as bad as a direct insult, which he has also levied against me and my family. All I have asked is that he refrain from posting any strategy related comments. This disrupts the integrity of the match and is highly offensive. Everyone in this game and now those watching have expressed their sincere concerns and requests. I hope cow can comply.
I have issues with the Cow that go back some time; the issues originally derive from the fact that I do not believe he plays with integrity.
However, for me it became personal when he made crass comments, and even a joke, about the Boston Marathon bombings. My wife is a marathon runner, having run several large city marathons, such as NY, SF, London, etc. We were still getting phone calls from family and friends asking if she was in the Boston that year and if she was OK, when this Cow posts a joke about it the day of and then stood by the joke and went on a rant blaming me and other First World’ers for being the cause of the bombings of innocents.
I have played on this site for 5 years, and aside from a brief tiff with Gamerman, I have gotten along and respected everyone I have played with on this site. The Cow is the exception and the exception is warranted. Whatever the Cow gets, it deserves.
So, I know people may not like logging onto to this thread and reading personal attacks, but this is our board: Bold, Hank, Awn, Dutch. Everyone else is a spectator and a guest here in this thread.
I’ll make one final comment about this.
I am sick and very tired of the feud between Bold/Dutch and Cow/Veqryn. All 4 of you need to stop making comments about each other on the forum in general, but I mostly care about your comments here because it means I have to sift through pages and pages of garbage every day to find our game file.
I know it seems to be in fashion to blame Cow for this lately, and I have repeatedly asked him to stop posting strategy, but Bold and Dutch you share a huge part of this too. The two of you have been trash talking Cow for months while he has been offline and I can’t believe either of you are surprised that this is how he has responded. I realize you have personal problems with him, but I see no reason why the rest of us have to be witnesses to it.

Hank thanks for lumping us in there with cow. I dont agree with you but I respect your comments and will refrain from addressing cow or anything he says in this thread. That being said I do not believe he will stop and the integrity of the match in my mind is already compromised due to his many real time strategy comments. Which really really sucks Because I would have wished to be able to wholeheartedly congratulate you as the winners if and when such a result were to occur. I do really appreciate the game we have had up until cows repeated strategic intrusions.

WTF is all this? Excuse me, I mention the creep in a total of 2 posts in a 70 page thread, after he starts posting on our thread and I get a rant like this? I have been trash talking him for months? No I haven’t. Check the thread. Get your facts straight before you post. I didn’t mention him before a week ago.
I am tired of him posting on our thread too. I have asked him to stop; he won’t. I was hoping mocking him would work; it doesn’t. So, what do you do? Just learn to live with the curse I guess and move on with life. Apparently no moderator will do anything about it.

Will you now tell me that this time its TOTALLY different because Cow (who should absolutely keep his opinion to himself as well) gave such valuable tactical tips and is now the reason you might lose although you claimed to have this in the bag for such a long time?? You giving Cow credit, all of a sudden? Cow has no excuses, but Hank is right, your constant “COWard” abusing while he was gone is likely half the reason for his own unasked-for behaviour.
A pitty, a good game from four good players to watch and learn from, but not worth it when you have to go through all the rest.
And yes, I take the liberty to write this in a thread not my own because I remembered the mentioned game acutely, and not pleasantly.

alex, if i had been posting about strategy it would be valid what you are saying. but I WAS NOT AND WOULD NEVER. i have said, i don’t care if cow posts any BS in the thread he wants as long as he doesn’t talk strategy. don’t come in making comments without understanding the facts alex. but by all means, say whatever you want in the thread, as long as it doesn’t pertain to strategy.

i am not giving cow credit for anything except for posting strategy comments into an active game thread. that’s about the ultimate sin. i think some of his comments have HURT allweneedishank and i don’t want that any more than i want them to help them. i want no strategy comments OF ANY KIND>

Ight alex so its consistent. I have no problem with people posting in my thread just no strategy. As you can see I tokk no real issue with cows postings until he started making strategy comments.

cow disappeared from our tournament game because he could not face a loss. now he is attempting to help the other team so he will not have to face us. it’s really really weak and low down. i don’t care one bit how much he wants to trash talk, i just don’t want him making any strategy related comments.

Cow: Japan should hit the US fleet - and not take in the destroyers cuz then they have 70% odds on the fleet. did you notice that Hank attacked the fleet immediately following this comment, when he actually had better odds on the fleet the turn before? cuz i noticed. coincidence? probably, but i don’t care - cow should not be allowed to taint Hank’s win, if he gets it.

Must be a holiday weekend in canada. I cant even get an eta for the move dutch and these guys have been on an aweful lot. Sure a long move for a game thats already over.
hank and love, just so you can understand, a big part of the fun of the game of axis and allies is the fun of taking on the role of the allied or axis commanders (ie, we are at war). thus “trash talk” to me is part of the game that can be reveled in and enjoyed (it is merely a role being played however and when the game is over, it’s good game and it was great to play such good guys). does that make sense?
so to me trash talk is fine, but intruding on other players games and making comments on strategy (something cow has been doing to me in multiple games aside from this one) it is way way over the line. i don’t even really care if cow wants to insult me or my family, as long as he doesn’t make strategy comments. it’s really easy for me to ignore his trash talk - more of a buzzing gnat than anything.
We can finish our game. That is if you want to lose.

Last I checked… it was Japans turn in our game.
As “Frowned upon” as cow’s comments may be regarding game advice. There’s nothing stopping him from posting his thoughts here or sending them via PM to AWN if he wants too as well.
So for the record… there’s nothing that can be done about it.
However,
#1. AWN has made it this far on their own, and I don’t think they’re about to start listening to the local farm animals.
#2. My experience with AWN is that they don’t take well to being given “free advice” or “freebies”, they consider it dishonorable.
So please gentlemen… continue! Entertaining game to say the least!
