ABattleMap Modul for Axis & Allies 1941

@Bolfry I hope not, but judging by how it’s been a year since this thread ended & the link still expired, I think it may be done.

Thankfully, there are some A&A discord servers out there, you can find them through the discovery feature.

Yea I like live play for the “gut feeling” battles as opposed to battle calc. Battle calc has it’s uses, especially for testing stuff, but I think the live thing gives more of a “real” feel than pbf where you can take as much time as needed to make the best play. Both are fun though, just a little different

I will go at it then - once I am done I’ll open-source the json, so other people can use that in projects :)

Agreed on that battle-calc thing. I will leave it out of the app, as it is intended as a game-aid during play

Did you install it using Holkann’s Installer? If so, you will find the map in the top left toolbar

Open your ABattlemap program Click on “New” at the upper left of the top toolbar and a menu should drop down Look for one of these titles “Axis & Allies 50th Anniversary Edition '41” or “Axis & Allies 50th Anniversary Edition '42” It will open the map for each scenario and it keeps track of what you do.

The best advice is to find someone or a few someones to play some games with you and walk you through it. I started palying on here in January and absolutely love it! I am just starting to learn how to play Global…which is another download into your ABattlemap program.

try Flames of Europe or DAAK.de (if you go to DAAK you’ll have to click the British flag in the upper left corner to translate the page to English, unless you know how to read German.)

i dunno if that’s any better actually…. the destroyer and cruiser are almost identical, and the pieces are all so small i can barely make them out and have to squint
(1920,1200 pixel screen here…)

Never said they were BETTER, I said I prefer them.  I just think the models are a bit more “true.”  It’s kinda hard to explain, but I definitely prefer the old models - and since there are a lot less than in the doublewide you posted, I think it’s less confusing too.
