  • Nope, in this case you’re the defender. There are no joint attacks, so you’d simply be going against dd, ca, bb, & ftr. It gets complicated when there are units in other units’ transports, and I’d have to review the rules or ask that question. That doesn’t apply here though.


  • Say you had an Italian or even Japanese fleet in that sz. Those units WOULD defend that seazone with the scramblers, but the Americans would take no part in that battle.

  • If it’s not too late, I’d like to make a change to my attack in Caucasus. I didn’t realize I had an inf in NW Persia. Do you mind if I swap out the inf for one of the mech?

  • I want to say that if you say had French inf on a US/UK transport and there was a scrambling fighter. The fighter would prevent the amphibious assault, unless there was a french attacker in the sz (like the fighter or one of the ships they start with). In that case they’d do battle, and if the defender was successful, the troops would stay on the transport and the transport would live. The part I’m not sure about is in the case of a sub in that seazone. If US has a big fleet in a seazone with an enemy sub . . . do any Frenchie guys get to make an amphibious assault if they don’t have an attacking ship in the seazone?

  • In response to your question - I would assume not. Given that all the other ships are just ‘there’ and are not considered part of the combat in any way, I would think that the French would need a ship to go with them….but, I am in no way certain on that :)

  • fyi, I lost a fighter in caucasus because the program didn’t recognize the inf I edited into the battle and I only had 3 ground pieces involved. Guess I should’ve edited the results as needed AFTER the battle.  :roll:

    I’ll roll that infantry now and see if that would’ve been enough to take Caucasus.

  • Actually, I don’t know which hit to take off from you. I don’t want to reroll your D dice since that would penalize YOU for MY mistake. So, we’ll just pretend that your last 2 tanks both got hits and Caucasus held anyway regardless of my infantry hit. Anywho, you’ll see an edit to give me back the fighter though as I would’ve taken the inf as a loss over the fighter.

    I really try my utmost to be fair to everyone. And I really strive to be an honest and in some cases generous player to go up against. That doesn’t mean I won’t enjoy eviscerating someone at A&A . …  because I really enjoy winning. But not at the cost of taking any advantage of the dice or my opponent.  :-D
