@simon33 Yes, this is a very aggressive Axis approach. I did not use it much in the past; I am trying how it can work.

please use this edit… I forgot my unprotected transport at New Guinea, I should have left one of my carriers there to protect the transport. I realized this only after I rolled some battles… then I thought I would cover the transport with DD + sub, but it was a stupid idea. I rather loose only the transport rue to my mistake and keep the sub and DDs alive.

all game long - this is just stupid. you killed 4 more units than you
should have AND survived a tank. absolutely ridiculous. -
F6. you have played very poorly and you will still win this game. had i known you were such a bad player i would not have made some of the riskier attacks i made earlier in the game. and yet your incredible luck just keeps happening over and over and over. now you have a coin flip to win the game, thanks to miracle after miracle after miracle in your favor.
-
i’m sorry bro, but you have absolutely no business winning with the way you’ve played. you haven’t just been lucky, you have been RIDICULOUSLY lucky.
honestly, i am mostly frustrated with the dice, and with the fact that you will think you played well because you will win. thats fine, you will see the light in our second game where you will be demolished in very short order.
-
i have made tricky and elegant attacks against sydney against top opponents that have FAILED miserably due to me getting diced. now you make one of the clumsiest attempts at the island i have ever seen and I GET DICED AGAIN and your attack will actually succeed. it is just beyond ridiculous. pure dumb luck.
-
just so you know, this attempt at sydney should have essentially ended your chances of victory in this game. with remotely reasonable dice there you are wiped out in west aus and unable to even MAKE AN ATTEMPT on sydney for the rest of the game. instead you will actually win, which i will try hard not to take personally since the dice have literally kicked my butt all game long.
-
i hope you get sydney actually. the last straw in a string of unbelievable dicings that will result in your victory. reminds me of the game cow won in the tournament against us. the thing is, a good player must realize when the opponent they are playing is not solid and i didn’t realize that until you made this attempt on sydney. arguably i should have just turtled but it’s almost impossible to pass up such a beautiful chance to wipe out so many japanese ground troops from a fleet stranded out in the ocean with a high percentage attack.
-
hey man, calm down… I know it is a bad feeling to loose to a total novice, but it is not my fault that the dice has favored me in this game. You knew I am a novice to the game so you should have played accordingly. There was really no need for those risky moves from your side. Now don’t blame me, those were your decisions and they did not work.
After my experience, A&A seems to be a lot luck dependent… a single game playoff at the end of the season seems like a joke… Maybe you should consider switching to low luck variant if dice frustrates you so much.
The bad news is that I will be a tier 3/4 player soon and this loss will cost you a lot in the ladder standing. I am sorry for that.
-
ha well i appreciate your acknowledgement. just don’t play any more games then after you have beaten two tier 1’s? or let me teach you some things about the game? you might be able to be a solid tier 2 or even a tier 1 with some training? cuz geez, you sure got the dice luck in spades. no worries at all about the ladder or the playoffs… i’ve just been clowning around this year - next year is going to be the fun one. i have been carrying up to 10-15 games at times which is far too many to play solidly - the plan was just to try a bunch of different things and see what works. even the top players in the league don’t really know what they are doing yet. it’s a lot of fun.
yeah, was just frustrated at the dice, don’t take it personally. i would never play low luck, takes all the fun and variability away. yeah, i would have crushed you, but who cares? that’s part of the grand mystery! :-P
-
frankly… I am not 100% sure… but I believe I missed your 3 mechs that could join that attack, so I though if you attacked I would be like 2:1 favorite in the battle.
other option is that I assumed that you would not strike @ Western Australia
as if you did I could easily attack back with 2 inf 2 art + 4 planes… landing 2 more in Northern Teritory… I think you would loose too much ANZAC infantry in those battles without any new coming since ANZAC is pretty much broke. So if I did not miss the 3 mech inf I though the best option for ANZAC was just to turtle in Sydney and wait for US help.I am really not sure which one is the case here.
-
no worries. if you get sydney it’s over. if you do not it’s over but in the other direction. you got a 50/50 shot to beat me, let’s see what happens!
-
but no, turtling was not the BEST option. if would
have only been the better thing to do if i KNEW
what the dice were going to be. all i had to do
was wipe out your w aus forces which i think i had
about a 9:1 shot on. -
btw…. I don’t think trying my luck @ Sydney in J7 is wise… I think I will rather move in more infantry/planes and strike it in J8. That will be close to 100% then. I just need to check if I can protect rest of Pacific VP until UK8… probably yes, but maybe not. Attacking Sydney in J7 seems like an unnecessary risk.
Where I am wrong?
