Well “dedicated” might be too strong a word… it’s not even called the “A&A Classic” forum (I really wish it were).

I play “mostly chit free”… I never said 100% chit free. Obviously when you have to, you have to (looking at you Moscow)… of course this is 1942, not 1940, so the stacks usually don’t get too crazy… however I have a large pool for each country (I have 70 infantry and 30 tanks for each country in my bins for example, which is a lot for 1942)… so it takes awhile to force the use of chits, and its minimal usage at best in my games.

I have, however played games where not a single chit went on board, and those always make me happy.

I just want to chime in here and say these are the rules for the FMGCon AA42.2 tournament this year that I “wrote”.  Essentially I took the rules from Smorey Swamp and adjusted them to a Swiss Tournament format and adjusted for time restraints.

Otherwise, it’s basically the same tourney rules that Greg runs at his big convention games.

If anyone has any issues or concerns, absolutely let us know. These are not yet 100% final, and the details of the tournament are still up in the air to be finalized.

First draft of the tournaments details;

Rules as above 16 player limit (8 tables with 2 players per table) 3 rounds @ 2.5 hours (with 1/2 hour between rounds for breaks and resetting the boards) Winner decided based on points Prize TBD (Trophy + ?) No extra entry fee (must have an FMGCon weekend pass) Advance sign up required

I recently uploaded to the BGG files area the following player aids and helper files for Axis & Allies 1942 2e:

Setup and Profile Cards:
Setup (front) and unit profiles (back) for each nation that are easier to read than the ones included with the game. This file is meant to be printed on 5 double sided sheets, one for each nation.

Player Aid with Sea Profiles:
A player aid containing pictures of each sea unit profiles, order of play, turn phases, combat sequence, victory conditions, and a color coded stacking chip chart. This file is meant to be printed on both sides of one sheet of paper.

Player Aid with Unit Profiles:
A player aid containing unit stats, order of play, turn phases, combat sequence, victory conditions, and a color coded stacking chip chart. The back contains the unit profile chart from the manual. This file is meant to be printed on both sides of one sheet of paper.

Victory City Flags:
A collection of Victory City flags. These can be used to create stands to show which side controls each victory city. I printed them on label paper and folded the flag around some small posts to create small flag standies to place on the board.

I’m mistaken. I knew I had 2 copies of the 1941 rulebook, … we played using 2 rulebooks!!  Duh, I bought two copies of the 1941 game.  There is a scanned version of the 2e rulebook available (where I do not know) but I was looking for an official pdf version that contains text not just images.

Sorry. I’m easily confused!  :|

I’m hoping to play 41 tomorrow with my ten year old. This Sunday the Dicetruction crew will be playing 42-2nd. There will be pictures on my blog and hopefully we can record for the podcast Sunday as well.
