Defending aircraft on A/C with long range tech.

Will this work? (Of course it will need to be resized.)

Note: AA50 uses the Iranian Roundel (Green, White, then Red) instead of the Actual Italian Roundel (Red, White, then Green)
Technically both are incorrect as far as WWII history is concerned, but if you use the image I posted you will match the roundel AA50 uses.

To avoid these cheesy situations. It takes the carrier the whole turn to move 2 spots so if it does not start sailing the same time the fighters would launch they would not survive anyway.

That will severely hinder some of the tactical & strategic aspects of battles and planning and remove alot of the surprises from the game.  Regardless of how a battle turns out, one of my favorite aspects of the game is the surprise move or act of desperation that wasn’t expected or accounted for.  I’m satisfied that you can’t send your planes on a one way trip, but you CAN send them on a potentially suicidal mission.

I find the US/UK vs Japan option (1941) is very viable.  Maybe I am misreading what was said before, but it actually seems more viable to me than a traditional kill Germany first. (I think this is because Italy can liberate/take land and Germany can reinforce it with fighters to defend now, a very significant and major defensive capability!)

America may be limited to 52 IPC or less a round if they go Kill Japan first.  However, England should be making significantly more than the 20-30 IPC they get in a kill Germany/ignore Japan campaign because of the NO in the Pacific, the non-loss of the NO in the Indian Ocean/Africa/Australia/etc, the increased land ownership in the Asian SE and SE Pacific Islands, etc.  Meanwhile, Japan shouldn’t be earning too much either, America could, realistically, be earning near to more than double what Japan is if played right.

The enemy won’t want to trade fighters and bombers for subs and therefore won’t attack your fleet to begin with. Subs can’t attack planes thats the problem! you can;t let subs take hits from planes… if they could that would be great!

No but they can attack the floating landing field the planes land on…everyone talks about how subs can’t hit planes like its a weakness -its a strength- being able to force my enemy to take hits on ships instead of realitively cheap fighters is a plus!

This makes common sense. I discussed this issue with Larry, and will edit in a link later. But the importent here is the production rate. The ship movement dont fit into this, because it took 12 days to cross the Atlantic, not 3 months.

When it comes to speed of play, as you put it, that is very a difficult issue. In the 1939 startline we had no guarantee that WW II would go on for 5 years. If UK, France, USA and Russia had attacked Germany in 1939, then the war would have lasted 1 year, because of an alternate decision. If Hitler had not done all his mistakes, the war might have lasted for 10 years. Just look at the Vietnam war, that lastet for 20 years, in one tiny territory. And the Iraq war 1990 lastet 100 days. The speed of production are fixed, the speed of movement and play are not.
