Most important Russian battles

Battle of Brienne was fought today, 29th January, in 1814.
(I had never heard of this one.)
The town is in North East France and the battle here took place because the 6th coalition invaded  France in the hope of overthrowing Napoleon.
As the roads were bad because of the weather, Napoleon was able to catch his old enemy, Blucher, with only one wing of his army: the Russian contingent under Lt Gen Baron Osten-Sachen, about 17000 men. Napoleon had 30000 on hand, but after his earlier reverses most were straight out of training camps.
Napoleon pinned down Blucher’s forces with Grouchy’s Cavalry and Horse Artillery, while Marshal Ney took the Young Guard into the town and captured the Chateau with the aid of Victor’s 2nd Corps. That night Blucher was forced to withdraw, after nearly being captured withGeneral Gneisenau. (Napoleon also narrowly missed capture.)
Blucher’s losses were 4000 casualties to Napoleon’s 3000.

Wouldn’t recommend with more than two, though there are rules to divide up your command.

Check with your local parts store.  If they don’t have the shop manuel for your vehicle, they can order it for you.  It’s usually less than $20 and is invaluable for do-it-yourself projects.  It comes complete with pictures :-D  The shop manuel is entirely different than the booklet that comes with the car.  Shop manuels will tell you (and show you) how to do everything from change the air filter to replacing a piston.  It’s a good investment anytime you buy a vehicle.  I even have the shop manuels for my motorcycles. :wink:

I’m not going to bother arguing right now, just keep listing cool battles as I think of them. That being said, siege of Constantinople, 1453! :wink:

Computers, we could easily do without them. Humans did for 99.9% of our race’s life. Computers have helped saved lives, but only after applying a seperate innovation which was previously related to the computer.

Terrorists, ect are not caught by computers. They are caught by people. Computers are simply a little tool they can use to help relay information. Many con men will tell you, sure all this new technology is great, but it doesn’t beat a good head on your soldiers and a smile.

But how do you grow the pie?
Is that the effort of a single player or of all of them?
