Website down / 404 error?

It was unavailable for me as well for the few times I tried during a portion of the day.

Yes, the site was down from at least 9:00 am to around 8:00 pm (UTC+02:00).

same message, but got other errors as well over the day. Mainly the 404 one. I have no clue about those things, could it be that the site was down for maintenance?

So, the forum has been down the last two nights; got the ‘404’ error.  djensen, any word on whats going on?

I have the feeling that he may be doing upgrades…

I’m actually not sure why this is happening.

Damn, I wonder if SMF finally hit it’s limit. The CPU load isn’t really that bad right now. I cleared out about 2G of files, nothing is helping.

Check your mod_security its likely to blame.

I’m using nginx so there’s no mod_security.

Today the site is super snappy. It’s been a while since I’ve had to do some hardcore operations digging. I checked the dmesg lots and nothing really jumped out either. Watching top didn’t help much. Hmm…

It must be a server issue then.

You visit too many porn sites again. You have a virus. The computer too.

I’ve installed a downtime notifier. Now, when the website is down, I’ll get an alert and I can restart the server. It should minimize down time until I can move to a new server.

Outstanding!  (sorry, my boss is an ex-lieutenant even though he hasn’t really told me if he’s a vet or not, you can really tell when every answer from him is “outstanding!” you know?)

During the Last week the Website and Forum was Down at least once a Day, often for several hours. I Hope you will find a New Server soon

The Forumini was down considerable time on Saturday. When it came back up the owner said he thought they had been hacked and access to the site cut-off. I hope this isn’t beginning to be a trend to have these game forums hacked by someone who is displeased with our enthusiasm for gaming.

I upgraded the server and increased the number or processes handling requests. As a result, the site seem much more stable now but traffic is also down. I’m going to make some further changes on the server either tonight or Monday.
