I wasn’t paying attention to my combat moves and I accidently made an illegal move. I should’ve kept another carrier back in sz35.
I had to ditch a fighter because he didn’t have a landing spot because of the illegal move. I don’t know what you want to do. I could redo my combat moves or just edit a carrier back to sz35 to pick up the fighter.

Probably editing the carrier back would be according to the rules. I haven’t opened the map to see, in order to give an objective opinion, so I don’t know what consequences that would have either way. I’m a purist and would love to stay as close to the rules as possible.
We could ask Gamerman for his opinion. I would take his opinion and apply it.

Yeah, battle in sz33 wouldn’t have been affected with 1 carrier less. But I don’t know if that’s the right thing to do and will await Gamer’s response. Shot him a PM, so we should hear something whenever he gets on.

Okay, my first question is: Arathorn, are you okay with having him splash a fighter because it does not have a valid landing zone? If so, this would be the least invasive method of solving the issue. (I did not run a battle calculator to determine if there was a significant improvement in odds for the attacker by having the illegal fighter, so let me know if you are NOT okay with this solution.)
My second question is: Arathorn, would you prefer he reroll the battle with the correct units? Provided of course that he may not have more units at the end of the battle than he did at the end of the first time he ran the battle. (So if he lost 8 destroyers, 3 cruisers, 1 battleship and 1 carrier he has to lose at least that many units, but possibly more.)

I’m ok with splashing the fighter if that’s the decision, my fault for not leaving a landing spot.
I’m confused about the 2nd option though. I sent 3 fighters against Kwangtung and the combat moves would’ve only left me 1 valid landing spot. I originally sent 2 carriers to sz33 with other units and then sent the 3rd carrier later in the combat moves. If I reroll any battle correctly, Kwangtung would not change and sz33 would have 1 less carrier present.

I took his post to mean that I should edit one of the carriers back from the sz33 ‘battle.’ I definitely sent overkill to sz33 as I was killing a single sub. Before the combat phase I had 5 carriers with 7 landing spots open and I had 7 fighters & tacs, so I could’ve and should’ve done the combat moves correctly.

Yes, it was overkill, and there’s no need for a reroll of any battle.
Just moving the carrier is good enough, as that was the way you could accommodate for the landing spots for all planes according to your move. -

I took his post to mean that I should edit one of the carriers back from the sz33 ‘battle.’ I definitely sent overkill to sz33 as I was killing a single sub. Before the combat phase I had 5 carriers with 7 landing spots open and I had 7 fighters & tacs, so I could’ve and should’ve done the combat moves correctly.

Yes, it was overkill, and there’s no need for a reroll of any battle.
Just moving the carrier is good enough, as that was the way you could accommodate for the landing spots for all planes according to your move.We have an agreement then?
