@arathorn
Since there were no dice and no combat I redid the turn, if that’s alright with you.

Sorry Eggman. I clicked done instead of post after the German turn.
-
Actually Eggman I am just going to surrender. Good game. It was a lot of fun, and I learned a bunch of stuff.
-
Ok, thanks! That was certainly the most fun league game I’ve had so far.
I thought it was clever to wipe out the ANZAC fleet in the way you did, but I don’t know if it was worth the price of giving up SZ6. I thought maybe you were going to try a desperation move to take Sydney or Calcutta.
My biggest fear was that you were going to use the German bonus money from taking Moscow to rebuild the fleet, especially if you put it in the Baltic. The whole time I was preparing my big attack force that I sent to Scandinavia I kept begging you mentally not to suddenly have an urge to buy navy. I even went to Gibraltar first in the hopes that you would think I was going to attack Italy with all those men. I was also worried that you would just send one of your big stacks in to definitively clean me out of Greece/Novgorod/Mid East but luckily that didn’t happen either.
Heh heh I may have to load this up against the TripleA AI just so I can have the pleasure of getting in my revenge sinking vs. the Japanese fleet.
-
Yeah man thanks for playing. I never considered rebuilding the German fleet, but I do think that is when things turned bad for the Axis. I made a terrible attack when I lost my air force and subsequently my armor. I actually meant to retreat after the first round, but apparently I love to press buttons.
Losing the Japanese navy in sz37 really stung as well. I did not realize all those US ships could reach. Major oversight on my part.
As far as taking out the ANZAC fleet I just wanted to kill some stuff on my way out. After those two big mistakes I felt like Manstein. Trying to stop the tide with too few resources. Your bombing and convoy program was extremely effective.
-
Heh I’ve had more than my fair share of
alright, if round 1 goes bad, then I'll retreat, but I never do. Losing 1 SS + 2 Fighters to your DD is a good case in point.That Caucasus attack came as a big surprise, I’d thought I had enough there to discourage an attack for at least 1 turn. It was certainly a big relief when I saw all those planes killed.
-
Yeah that was fun. I definitely want a rematch. Let me regroup……for like 15 Minutes :lol:
