IF you guys play a game, make sure to make it a “Best of X”, where X is at least 3 games, preferably like 5 or 7

league can only be best of 3 (another outdated league rule that should be changed) but yeah, whaddya say cow?

all the earlier trash talk aside, i do respect the game you play - it is highly effective when it works.

we can each play one side with an agreed bid, then if we each win once, we can straight up bid for game 3.  another thing to consider, i play a very fast game and so do you.  we can knock these out lickety split - you up for it?

  • TripleA

My number of global wins compared to losses, was nothing but pure luck. If I play more games than my luck eventually even out. WHY WOULD I DO THAT?

  • TripleA

It is OKAY. Many use my strategies to great effect!

  • '12

haha.  i understand why you don’t want to play.

it’s like the fish that was sitting at a table with a bunch of sharks and went all in with 2% to win and sucked out.  that’s the best time for that newbie to get up from the table and leave.  problem is, you still gotta win one more game.

most people have no idea how to play this game yet.  you are the guy putting up strategy guides, so yes, people are following them.  i wouldn’t conclude much more than that yet.  :-D

  • TripleA

You should put up your own strategy guide!

i’m still working out strategies.  like the one that just failed miserably against you.  :-P

  • '12

strategy guides are a waste of time for people that understand the true underpinnings of the game.  adaptation and creativity cannot be taught, they have to be absorbed over many many games and seeing many different situations unfold. A&A IQ cannot be gained from a strategy guide.  trying out many different strategies can lead to that, so you are not hurting anyone… but a strategy guide is very limited.

    Probabilities and conquering countries.

All you need to know about axis and allies.

tell ya what…  i’ll play you in low luck in the league games.  then you’re worry about your luck running out is not in play.  after all your good luck, i know you are thinking some bad luck has to be coming your way right?

    8-)

  • TripleA

That is not how luck work. You can get super long hot streaks you know.

ok trust me I know. I’ve been on a bad luck streak with dice for about two years lol

the game is still fun for me though because I know that I need even that much better strategy to beat lucky guys like you.  unfortunately in this case the dice just never let up for one second from start to finish and that’s just not feasible.

  • '12

played as a low luck game though, I assure you you would have had no chance.

Congrats on the winners. Good play from both sides.

There isn’t such thing as good luck across several games (with the number of independent rolls impacting the games, that’s impossible). Cow’s approach makes me think of a poker book I read. A little more risky / loose play to keep your opponents on their toes, but always keep an out to limit the damage. By acknowledging / promoting his own luck, maybe Cow is gaining an advantage since their opponents will be more cautious and think about odds more conservatively?

Keep worshiping the coward omega…  we will see how he does in the finals.  It is very much possible to have an incredible luck streak and he has.  Obviously you arent really looking too deep into his games…

Do you even play the game?  If so I would like to offer you a league game.

    Cheers

Worship is too strong, but gotta give Cow some credit (as I do give you a lot of credit).

I play the game, but I find the amount of time needed to play strong players online is huge and isn’t worth the reward. Looking at the higher caliber games, it’s clear that you have to plan several moves ahead and think of the counter while simulating several battles based on a number of different actions and expected responses. In these cases, the winner depend not only on skill / experience / luck, but also the sheer amount of time and testing that is done on each side. I can’t compete with that level of investment of time and thinking and the resulting ROI is too low.

I have one League game ongoing with Wheatbeer and I got busy and bored (not sure if I’ll even finish it). For the time being, I’m back to playing casual table top games and picking up ideas on this site.

Well all you saw in this game was an udder and complete beatdown by completely one sided dice.  Worst I have ever seen.  So im not sure, if you were watching the game, how you could give any credit to cow.  The dice get all the credit for his win as far as im concerned, and that is an objective assessment.

Can you show dice stats to prove it, accounting for all battles? I would be interested to see that.
