    I have a question about the kamikazes. When the US attacked Iwo Jima on their last turn why weren’t the kamikazes activated?
    Do I have to have ships in the sz for them to be activated?

    ok…I was going through the rules. Since you didn’t use warships in the attack they weren’t activated. I guess I’ll use them to defend Japan!

    Kamikazes can only target surface warships (destroyers, cruisers, carriers, and battleships only) if there’s a combat in the SZ.

    You don’t necessarily need a Japanese ship in the SZ for it to count as combat.

    If I had attempted to bombard Iwo Jima, then you could have used kamikazes. Also, scrambling will create combat which would let you target eligible ship types.
