I’m beginning to wonder if you’re doubting your bullet-proof strategy now!
If it’s so great, put in a little time to prove it to all of us other A&A fans! This game has been out for 2 1/2 years (it’s still basically the same thing). If you can’t wait a week or two to play through a game claiming that it’s all busted, I don’t know what to say.

Unfortunately, I have to leave for a couple hours. I have several other games going, but hopefully I can complete round 1 tonight.
I can’t remember for sure, but I think the other strategy involved declaring war on J1, so that might be a big difference. I think it also involved crushing Hawaii on round 1 too, but again, I can’t remember for sure.
Doesn’t matter - I’ll play this out. Even if I only do a round a day, this should take less than a week.

One of the many issues here is that you come on acting like you are god’s gift to balance testing and then challenge my findings and then have the audacity to demand that your challenge be carried out at your convenience. I have played this a dozen times on TripleA, where were you during those tests? Why only now after I am quite tired of this whole thing do you come on and act as though there is no issue?
I have demonstrated it plenty. I have had an open invitation to come play me on tripleA for some time now.
You challenged me, and I was willing to try this forum hassle out to an extent but it is just a headache.
2 1/2 hours of getting nothing done is a waste of my time.

Not really sure what your E40 comment is about btw. Â I am literally the only person I have ever seen hosting Pac 1940 on TripleA, and I have been quite active in the lobby for at least 5 months now, and slightly active for a while before that.

I got plenty of belief in it. What I don’t have is plenty of time to waste checking back to this forum over the course of a week or more to prove a strategy to someone who challenges me and actually declares every term of the challenge while acting like they are god’s gift to playtesting. Let me know when it is convenient for you to play live. I am not so sure why you are so scared to play live. I am quite sure why I don’t want to play by the forum; we could have been already done with the first game had it been live!

My reason for not playing live is that I play this game like chess, not like checkers. I put a lot of work and thought into my moves. I have other reasons as well.

In my experience the people who call me arrogant (you’ve said “God’s gift to playtesting” 3 times now - which is offensive to me) are very arrogant themselves - that’s why they are so quickly offended by someone else who is confident.
You don’t have to play me and suffer humiliation. You started the Play By Forum and quit. Just upload your save games and we’ll be done.

I accept your apology and apologize myself for being huffy. Please understand how frustrating it is for me to get 1 turn done of a game in the time it would have taken to get at least 6 rounds in, while the person who challenged me to a game demands that I play it in the way most convenient to him while ignoring my prefences.
I realize that I am not accomplishing anyting by getting all upset, but I feel I am also accomplishing nothing by trying this PBF business. Like we both said, Pac really doesn’t seem all that important to too many people.
Again, I am willing to play you in a couple live games, just let me know when you got the time. It’s not worth it to me to spend a week checking back repeatedly on what can take the time of a semi-long movie for a game that probably doesn’t get enough play to warrant even half the time I have already spent.

Let me know if you think that is out of line for me to be upset at the fact that you challenge me to a game and expect I commit a week or more to it when at least the first game can be over and done with in 2 hours. All of my posting in the thread in the pac forum that offered games offered them live on TripleA. I don’t see why I should be under any obligation to immensely inconvenience myself over the course of potentially multiple weeks when my incredibly reasonable offer to play a game against anyone who would like to work out with me a time when we can meet to play online is standing.
It’s one thing if I say to you “Let’s play, you name the time and place” and then I bow out when you demand to play PBF, but I told you before trying it that I would try it, but I did not guarantee I would finish it.
You challenged me, so if you don’t want to play live, then I guess we won’t be playing.

That’s the same as telling us we’re all stupid for not seeing it for the past 3 years. We thought about it too, tried it, it doesn’t work. So I am up to the challenge to see your new innovative idea, and I say “enter Gamerman” which is a play on words of “enter Sandman”. Whoopdedoo - you’re offended by that? That’s your problem. I don’t care what you think about every comment I make - I don’t even know you.

I thought I already said this, but I had no idea that I was asking you to take on some kind of monumental undertaking that was going to take un-told hours of your time. I also said that we seem to have strong preferences for 2 different methods of play, and maybe those differences are irreconcilable. I don’t think you need to start pointing fingers and trying to prove that I’m the unreasonable one.
It’s simple. I’m one of the top league players on the site for the past several years, and I offered to test your strategy before you get the game developers all excited and change the official rules for all of us. I don’t see anything inappropriate about that - I think you’re just being defensive. And as IL pointed out, the very creation of your thread and your whole premise is arrogant, so if arrogant people like me take issue with that, you shouldn’t be surprised. :-)

There are dozens of players playing league games by forum as we speak. Are you saying we’re all taking way too long to play our games, and that “live” play is superior in every way?
But as you’ve shown, you don’t even know how to play by forum and have never done it. How can you legitimately and informatively criticize something you have no experience with? You can’t.
