@simon33 I think we all could agree that all sealion plans are not alike.I prefer to not be “all in” with sealion when I make my G1 buy.I’ll buy all air (or maybe 1dd+2 air) and access how G1 goes and what US and UK do before commiting to sealion or not. When Italys 1st turn is underway I know if it’s a go time for sealion.
True i guess i assumed a lot use the same thing for sea-lion and turn1.
Wondering how you attack the UK fleet with your buy, guess you also make some changes to my moves. I tend to use the BB to soak 1 damage and make sure its safe so it can be repaired.
Why not ask if you need a transport to cross the Tasman sea. Heck, people can swim the English Channel so therefore no transport should be required, right?
Fair dinkum. This has got to be one of the weirdest A&A questions I’ve heard.
Hi ANZAC. For the HBG 1939 map, think of a 4x8 sheet of plywood. Its is HUGE and awesome. You need a big room for that size table plus room to walk around on all 4 sides. I only played the 1939 game one time and I can say it is definitely superior in a hundred different ways, but playing it is an order of magnitude more complex than global 1940. Global 1940 seems like the kiddie game next to it, which is nuts because global 1940 is not an easy game by any means. I’d say your best bet is to get the global 1940 if only for the pieces, and then blow the extra money for the 1939 map and elite pieces if and when you and your crew outgrow it. Another option is to play 1940 on this site with triplea.
Yes, the cat issue is something that’s come up a few times on this board, as the picture below will illustrate. I can’t recall if the suggestions were made seriously or not, but some board members have thought about protecting their games-in-progress from one weekend to the next by using a system of overhead pulleys to either raise the table to the ceiling or lower a protective hood over the map. Feasible for a dedicated gaming room in the basement, but not likely to be approved for the living room by the lady of the house.
That is SO CUTE!!!
How well does the cat play? Does he attack the US on turn one? :-D
I like the salvage question, but I would say roll a d6 for each mech or armor destroyed by Chinese forces, on a roll of 1, that unit is now Chinese. It’s same odds as SBR getting killed by AA Guns so there is some limited precedent for that target number. It’s horrible justification, but best I could do on the spur of the moment. lol
