Does anyone have a good American strategy?

well i dont know about some break out stradegy but if u are the allies and of course u have russia if u wont them to win they need some more ipc’s and the best way to do that is to just give them allie territory like have the us pull out of there two asia spots by attaking japan and have the english attack japan from india with what little stuff tthey have that gives the russians 7 more to spend each turn then 2 more u mostlikely get from there first move atatck to make a front other wise ur going to be hammering it away with germany for a long time in till either side gets a little ahead then ur screwd ive found thjis plan to work several times and ur thinking then russia has to deal with japan no just have the us put alot of heat on them and have britan take germany out of africa and then there pertected there

Well, here is one strategy I’ve used in the past that may help with Africa (RR, no bid). You won’t be able to keep Africa with this, but you might have a chance to at least take it for a turn or two.

On G1, sink the UK Navy in the North Sea as usual, but do not use the Baltic sea transport as fodder. Once all Allied ships there are sunk, take the Baltic sea transport and move either the Norway tank (my preference)or two Norway infantry to Morocco. Also land at least one of your fighters there as well. Instead of taking Egypt, simply move two infantry into Libya.

This sets you up fairly well for G2 in the following ways

The transport blocks the UK/US from an easy run through this area. The UK will sink this, but this will divert forces from other uses (i.e. if they use fighters, they will not be able to land in Karelia on UK1 - possibly making a G2 assualt there feasable). Probably the UK will also sink the German Med fleet (its really inevitable).

The extra forces in Morocco will delay UK/US forces from landing in Africa on round 1.

On G2, use all available forces to take Egypt. The extra tank and fighter(s) will help defeat any forces that may have been moved to Egypt on UK1 . You should also consider using the bomber as well if they have done so. Now the Allies either won’t have sufficient forces to effectively counter-attack, or you will have sufficient forces in Egypt to make a counter difficult at best.

On G3 and onward, you then use these forces to fight north-south. You should be able to reach S. Africa then retreat back to Egpyt to defend that against the Allies. Here you are just scrambling to keep as much as Africa in German hands as long as you can. The Allies are able to take it all back, but now they must devote more resources to do so. Also, it is possible for Japan to bring in reinforcements to help Germany, but I never do so since the Allies are closer to Africa than Japan and the Japanese forces are better used elsewhere, IMO. At some point you should probably conceed Africa and move the fighter back to the relative safety of Europe.

There are problems for the Germans with this (loss of a defensive fighter in Europe for a few turns, Norway is weakened, and the odds for this working as stated are not exactly a slam dunk) but you should try it to see how it works for you.

England can easily remove the german navy from Southern Europe. It’s happened in every game I’ve played. They start with a bomber and many fighters and will likely have a battleship and sub to fight with also. Russia has two fighters that can hit the navy. The US has a bomber.
Germany buying ships in Souther Europe to protect the flow of units being tranported into Africa is a losing strategy. They would slowly be eaten away by Russia and even if they did take the IC in SA, it wouldn’t help them offensively.

And how many fightersfor the UK? 2 AFAIR plus 1 from India. I’d be happy to see the latter one leave India, be assured of that.
So, would you send 2 Russian fighters against a BB and 2 Transports (after the G1), or send any planes against that? … i doubt that.

The IC would not help, sure.
But being eaten up by russia, well i dunno. The 1-2-3 punch would hardly work with the UK placing its IPCs elsewhere. Russia will hardly try to battle continuusly for say EE. For the more eastern german provinces … well, once the situation in Africa allows it, i would just send the whole fleet into the black sea and have a bit of fun.

Japan seems to have the best AI, or the AI is the best at playing japan.

You really don’t need to go after the USA, but if you must, this is sometimes fun…

X= whenever opportunity knocks

On turn X, land 6-8 inf in Alaska. The USA will amass forces to come up to Alaska, but don’t worry, Alaska is not your objective… On turn X+1, move all naval units to Sea of Japan for reloading. On that same turn, lots of USA infantry will probably move into W. Canada, and that’s exactly what you want. On turn X+2 move your entire fleet to Hawaii, and take it with AT LEAST 10 infantry. This move is called “Check.” Now the USA has many land units in W. Canada, but has to worry about the invasion of California. Which direction should the units go? They could take Alaska, but it leaves W. Canada open and makes the American player heavily rely on whatever infantry he places in CA at the end of his turn. He could move everything to CA, but Canada is open again, and the Jap threat in Hawaii remains… either way, you’ve just disrupted about 4-6 turns of US movements to Europe… Germany can breathe now.

In my personal Opinion, Japans main point in exsisting, Is to take some of the allies attention away from Germany, and to force russia into a two front war. Since Japan has a larger Pacific fleet then America does, after you deystroy the hawaiin fleet, the coastal fleet will run to panama with its tail between its legs. While japan attacks china, india and russia, this takes IPCs away that cant be used against Germany. Japan Is usually the turning point against The sovies.
