XDAP4 The Numenoreans VS The Fighting Mongooses
-
Please indicate whether you want to intercept the Moscow bombing raid. And if so, what your order of loss will be.
Also, I very much doubt that you want to scramble the Norway fighters against my attack on the American destroyer. But if I’m wrong about that, now is the time for you to say so.
-
We will intercept in Moscow with all 5 fighters. We’ll lose UK fighter(s).
No scramble SZ113.

Due to a bug, the damage associated with my strategic bombing raids wasn’t computed properly. The Volgograd factory should have +2 damage (for a total of 5), and the Moscow factory should have +4 damage (for a total of 11). If you decide to produce on these factories, please edit away the appropriate number of PUs to account for the extra damage. Thanks.

Cleaning up after air battlesThe dice emails from MARTI show rolls of 1s not 3s, though the program reports it as rolls of 3s.
If you look back to past SBR, for the example the round 9 combat log (quoted above), you can see rolls of 7, which are impossible. So when it says rolls 7, it actually indicates the dice rolled 5 because it automatically adds in the +2 bonus.
-
You can see the same phenomena in round 8 as well.

In the past, MARTI always showed 1s when displaying the damage done on strategic bombing raids, regardless of whatever was actually rolled. However, I went back through some MARTI rolls from earlier in this game, and found that there were some non-1s reported in MARTI die rolls. MARTI appears to be a good indicator of SBR die rolls now, regardless of its past uselessness for that purpose.
On my screen, I physically saw 3s being rolled during the damage allocation phase. But it’s possible those 3s already included the +2 to damage the rules specify. It’s disappointing that all three of my remaining strategic bombers appear to have rolled 1s in the damage allocation phase. I have no objection to you taking your turn without editing in the extra damage I’d requested earlier.

It was lousy SBR dice, no argument about that :|

I have obtained permission from Mababa and Fingolfin to enter into surrender negotiations with the Allies. The Axis is willing to agree to honorable peace terms.
I would like to congratulate Wheatbeer and Kilroynothere for their outstanding level of play. Good luck in the rest of the tournament.
-
Thanks, you guys also had an outstanding level of play (plus significantly worse dice, especially in the latter half of the game).
Kilroynothere deserves most of the credit (he restrained many of my harebrained ideas and took the harder powers to play).
Since it’s not truly won or lost outright, let us know if you’d like to keep playing anyways.
-
Wheatbeer is modest… the best ideas came from him!
Really enjoyed the game and liked the gambit of getting the US in late. Made our lives very difficult indeed.
As Wheat mentioned, very comfortable in keeping the game going outside of the tournament if desired.
Cheers

plus significantly worse dice,
That may be, but the main source of our problems was not dice. Your plan to defend Moscow was better than my plan to take it. That was the single most important factor in determining the outcome of this game.
But don’t worry–I’m sure I’ll come up with a better plan the next time we play. 8-)
I’m not totally opposed to continuing this game in an unofficial manner. But my heart isn’t really in it.
-
Completely understand that. Takes all the excitement out of it really.
I say we just move on to other games and know it was a fun one!
Thanks again for the game, it was fun, exciting, and I learned some new tricks from your Axis play.
