i don’t see the defense roll you are talking about, did you do it in local?
either way, i see it does roll the air first, then rolls the boats on defense. yes, this is incorrect, you should not be asked for casualties until all have rolled - at which point you would only be able to assign hits to subs that come from our ships.

however, as i said, i didn’t see the roll for our air in round 1 come across marti. go ahead and roll that, then roll the ships on marti as well, then choose your casualties. then finish the rest of the battle out using the aa.org dicey.
to do this strictly by the rules, you must do your strategic and tactical bombing raids FIRST. this is actually significant in this situation because we will then have the knowledge of what you bombed and for how much, BEFORE any of the battles (mainly this z33 battle) commence, which means you do not get the option of seeing how the battles go then deciding whether to bomb an IC/AB/or NB in any given territory. tripleA does not force the order as it should, so you must do it yourself.

1. strategic and tactical bombing raids
2. amphibious assaults
3. general combat
within each category, the order is your choice. ie, if you have several of each type of combat, you can choose the order within each group.
so, before continuing with any battles, make sure you first do any strategic or tactical bombing runs, followed by any amphibious invasions, followed by this z33 battle.

yes our round 1 losses are unaffected. i never wish an opponent good luck. :wink: i just say let’s have fun and may the dice be reasonably fair. :-P
I understand the bomber airbase thing, I just feel USA has a good chance to win a strait up engagement especially if Japan is not taking casualties to maximize defense (if he does anzac can do a follow up attack to finish off carriers etc).
Hopefully the dice is crazy so there is some resolution to your game.
