I am a soldier currently deployed to Baghda, Iraq. My fellow soldiers in my platoon and my self love playing A&A. We have all 5 versions and they help make our downtime more enjoyable. Our problem is this, we live in very small trailer type 2 man living units that do not really have enough room to play A&A. What I am looking for are any kind of program that we could use to play on our laptop. I am sure there is an answer somewhere on this forum but my internet connection is so slow here that iy would take me a lifetime to searh through all of them. Thanks in advance for any help given.

Hi all, I just bought a Atari War Hits Deluxe pack today with Axis and Allies, Act of War and Kingdoms in it, I cant seem to install Axis and Allies becaus eit is asking for a CD Key, there is not one in the pack, any help greatly appreciated on how to get it working!!

I can’t remember how many times I had to erase a question I was asking and answered myself… :-)

Our local group hasn’t played AA much in the last few years. Allies always win even with RR, germans with jet power and Japs with super subs.

The idea of bidding is re-kindling interest I must say.

I’m up and running on the zone now with XP. I have DirectX 8.1 which is needed, 9.0 doesn’t work. It seems to be impossible to uninstall unless your some type of tech computer nerd. I definately could not figure it out, which is why I wound up clean reinstalling XP. That puts DirectX 8.1 back. I used Microsoft tech support and the only other way of uninstalling is to use the system restore function back to the point that you installed DirectX 9.0.

For the Zone you also want to delete the file in ONLY the Axis and Allies Folder dplayx.dll. I guess the theory behind that is the dplayx.dll file will default to your windows version of the file which is then compatable.

Lastly, no router with firewall. I have to unplug the ethernet plug from the router and plug directly into the modem and reconnect before playing. Which is a pain but, once you get the system down, the only problem is remembering to put it back when your done. It’s well worth it to play on the zone. I’ve learned so much already getting my butt kicked.

P.S. Side effect of reinstalling Windows XP…… Flickering sreen in the Axis and Allies CD only Multiplayer or not. Good Luck!

One thing that bugs me in the rules is … if you have FTRs on a CV in the UK sz, for example, and are attacked, losing the CV, but FTRs survive, they have one movement point to reach the UK, W EUR or F/N! If they were in the fight(which is highly probable) then they would not have fuel to reach safety. But, IT’S JUST A GAME! :wink:

By t3 I have like 35 inf plus whtever in kerelia. I welcome the attack! I exagerate a bit but if Germany attacks Keralia I suggest earlier unless USSR does something stupid. Or later if Japan is threatening from the other side.
