I have searched for this on the forums and cannot find a reference to it. In the setup for Germany there are 2 pieces for aircraft carriers. I am axis and I started an Africa Korps movement but US entered the war in turn 1. Now I will need 2 carriers to guard the med in SZ 91 but I also want to place a carrier in SZ 113 to counter a possible Russian attack formulated by my cunning opponent. I can use a plastic chip in SZ 91. Is it permissible in the rules for Germany to have 3 carriers in play?

Why do you think that you need CV’s to protect the Med.?
I am curious, wouldn’t Bmbrs doing the same Job and give you more flexibility?
So now you spent 48 ipcs for three CV’s and 32 are lost compared to 48 = 4 Bmbrs plus your Ftr’s and the Allies player would have had to think about it sailing to Gibraltar…just my thoughts…

Ha Ha! No I didn’t add it at the start. The Us fleet went south and Japan and HI were throwing blockers at each other. I bought one so a fighter had round trip range like a bomber.

Your planes can only move 4 total. You can’t move the carrier with the planes and then move the planes 4 more.

Actually you can move the carrier 2 and then the plane 4 but the planes and carriers have to be different nationality.

For example. Lets say a USA carrier has 2 ANZAC fighters on it. The carrier can move 2 in USA’s turn and then the planes can move another 4 on ANZAC’s turn.

You would have to place one Carrier in SZ 6 to collect it.

There is no such thing as a one way mission(suicide). There must be a possible landing space for each air unit or the combat is not allowed.
AAA here on this site allows planes to crash and die sometimes when a valid spot is available. It is an error in the programme.

Your understanding is correct, MarkVIIIMarc.  However, in scenario 2 the UK player has no casualty options that won’t result in stranding the fighter.  Since sub hits must be taken on sea units, the only casualty options are the one you chose or taking both hits on the carrier, dooming both fighters.  At any rate, taking the hit on the carrier and stranding the fighter is always an option.
