With all due respect HopLight, but you’re not displaying the game right here.
Sydney - yes, you got Sydney. It was a slight mistake by me, but it didn’t matter that much. Pacific still looks about even, maybe a small advantage for you. That’s okay, I’m not saying you play badly or anything. But it’s not like it didn’t cost you anything to get Sydney. It’s still very open in the Pac.
Atlantic fleet: Yes, I already admitted to that huge blunder at the end. I was not putting any effort anymore in that game, since I lost it in Turn 1 already.
I rolled under average in basically every single battle in the Med and Atlantic, especially the attack on ethiopia and your damaged bb.
Don’t get me wrong. I’m not criticizing you in any way. You have nothing to do with the dice. You played very solid, gave me no chance to come back. All I’m saying is, that with 2 equally strong players, dice rolls like what we had early on decide games.
Maybe if I was a much stronger player than you, I might have overcome that early deficit. But I’m not.
Truth is - after you won two games against me, I still don’t know if you’re better than me. You probably are, since you play safer than me and I didn’t have backup plans for getting diced. On the other side though, I’m pretty confident I would have won Game 1, if I wouldn’t have lost 2 devastating battles in a row due to heavy bad luck.
Again, I want to point out that you deserve these two wins. You made few mistakes and exploited many holes in my defense - created by mistake or dice. However, we both know the dice favored you heavily in both games. It would be nice if you actually acknowledge that. (Like you did in the thread already)
Your last post here makes it look like I was complaining about bad dice, all the while these weren’t the reason for me losing. They were. We both don’t know who had won either of the games if the important battles would have been at least slightly average.
