whackamatt Axis over Karl7
Allies have Axis on the ropes, but he wins by sneaking into Hawaii… totally avoidable by me, but I don’t see it until the game tells me at the end of France. Sigh… Should’ve been a win for me…
On the ropes? Clearly we aren’t playing the same game. lol. Both Germany and Italy seperately had a bigger fleet than the combined Allied fleet hiding out near Canada. Italy has Egypt, and Germany is holding strong in Ukraine and Novogorod. They’re collecting 70 & 30 with no sign of it going down. And the Axis have outproduced the Allies for the last turn rounds, with the last being 170ish Axis, 140ish Allies. Plus the US has no land units for all their transports, so there will be a turn round delay before you can manage to take anything from Japan.
Ha, all that didn’t matter. USSR was unassailable and Japan close to being contained. But no matter, a win is a win even if it is a sneak win. I’ve already sent you my bid for game 3.

You won that way on me a year ago, Karl, and I had a deathgrip on Europe. The French were in business. After you managed to pull it out with a leeway of 1-2 hits on Hawaii, I vowed - never again would I lose that way
-
But I was learning the ropes of global at the time! What’s your excuse? 48 games finished this year alone - nothing like that should catch you!

Just a stupid oversight. I’ve got 5 games going, and I judge the amount of concentration each needs by how close the game is. Whack was not close to winning in a military sense so I wasn’t watching potential sneaks. His move could have been bocked 100% by me. As I say, just a dumb oversight.

Infrastructure (Axis) over Stalingradski (Allies +12)
I got beat. Well, I surrendered rather than watching the entire world go up in flames. It was about to get real ugly after a major disaster by the US fleet in SZ 6. But it was already ugly, and the win is well deserved for my good friend, Mr. Infrastructure.

Andul over Mallery29
I was doing so well in Europe, I didn’t run the numbers properly and let Japan do me in….I’m sure it’s still possible to win this, but I’m not happy and really really mad at myself…and the wife for always trying to rush me through turns so she can annoy the piss out of me.

Thanks for the story
The best A&A players are able to keep all family members from ever bothering them when “in the zone”
It is the worst way to lose, to be doing great in Europe and have Japan get you. After it happens once, you vow “never again”
Cheers, and better fortunes in the future, Mallery

As for that vow to “never again”, is that meaning the wife will never interrupt ever again??? HA! :-D

The worst part is that I HAVE England. At least for two more turns. That’s the thing that really makes me angry about screwing it up. Some days, I just wish for the one mulligan per 18 rule.
Cheers, and better fortunes in the future, Mallery

No, that part is up to you :-D
I mean, never again will you get carried away in Europe and let Japan get their 6th city.
Happened to me a year ago. Hasn’t happened since. :-)
