Combat will result in any case in which units from opposing sides are in the same space during the Combat phase, regardless of how they got there.

You are right - and your cousin is wrong:

Each air unit that moves in the Combat Move phase must generally reserve
part of its Move value for the Noncombat Move phase, when it must return
to a safe landing place using its remaining movement. See page 23 for
examples.
An air unit’s movement in any complete turn is limited to its total Move
value. For example, a bomber has Move 6, but it cannot move 6 spaces to
end its movement in a hostile space. It must save enough movement points
to get to a friendly territory where it can land. A fighter can move up to its
full Move value of 4 to attack in a sea zone, but only if a carrier could be
there for it to land on by the end of the Mobilize New Units phase.

I entirely agree with the original post. Nothing to add to it! The comment which indeed says it all to me is that when the Axis take Moscow, it’s not like it’s almost over, it just starts again!

BTW, has anyone ever played a A&A 41 game in which MOSCOW does not fall sooner or later. I’ve once held it for 5 or six rounds, mostly by sending Allied fighters there (both British and American), but in the end it always fell…

India can certainly be held by the British for a long time, even though to newbies it may seem that it can’t.

I found it at Target for $18.00 US.  I wouldn’t pay anything over $25.00 for it and honestly that is pushing it.  When you open the box you will understand why.

I would keep pumping out MEN.

The more men Japan builds, the harder it will be for the US to take it, and they won’t be able to afford it.

The same goes for Germany.  Infantry are going to be your best friend here, you’ve conquered Russia! Now it’s about killing everything off of the mainland.

As Japan, I would build up Fighters after securing my capital.  They have long range, are cheaper than boats, and the US will have to buy expensive carriers to keep them away.

Krieg has said on Larry’s site that they are happy for us to give the US  an Atlantic Destroyer and the Russians 2 Infantry. They said see if that changes things and what we thought of that.
