Hi Noll. Seems such a waste for him: cannot teach again. Surely he will go to jail and what I found astounding is that he was married. I agree that it does not seem pedo, but the law is 16 here, though sex still happens between two people before then. I suppose you know that Britain has the worst teenage pregnancy rate in Europe?  Something that annoys me.
You said he seems an ok guy. That might be the case, but he has proven an idiot.
She is what we call a chav. I do not have time for them. You are probably right in saying she will move on and possibly soon forget him. I too believe she is just as complicit, but suspect she will not be touched at all by the law.
Honestly, I was not wasting my time on them or their story.

Pedophilia is interest in pre-pubescent children. Interest in post puberty, generally understood to be 15-19 is ephebophilia. They are not the same thing. By definition the guy is not a pedophile. An idiot maybe but not a pedophile.

That said - I’ll agree with the sentiment that Jeremy was stoopid though.  Legalities of the situation aside, there are about 29873985798 ways to solve the problem differently, and in a mature fashion.

Though with a 15 year age gap at that stage… One could argue -mature thinking- wasn’t exactly in abundance?

A few years ago, my good friend found out that ten years earlier, as a 18/19 year old, I was seeing his 29 year old sister. That was an wierd discussion.

My girlfriends sister is 42 and her common law husband of 28 years is 64.  42 and 64 is not too difficult to see and they have been together for 28 years.  But rewind to when they were courting….  The family still calls him a diddler behind his back.  She used to work for him and at the time had I been on the scene he would have been getting daily beatings.  It shows you probably ought not to take the law into your own hands.

My Italian grandparents were 34 and 14, but that was in 1942!

My father-in-law celebrated his 40th birthday by marrying a 20 year old. They just recently both died at the age of 72 and 52.

He actually may have been older.  He owned a small bowling alley that she worked at.  Funny enough, he is very Italian and her and the GFs mom came from Sicily.

The guy is thinking with his little head and she is just eating it up.  If they were 30 and 45?  No big deal.  But there is a HUGE difference between a 30 year old and 15 year old.  I don’t buy it and the dude should snap out of it.

My reaction to something as basic as a forum thread might seem trivial or silly to some, but the content was incredibly powerful.

I remember reading “Worst day ever” and thinking pfftp, how bad could it be? My day today at work was definetly worse lol! I planned to drop a -trumping- story, and then I read the post…

The event was horrific, senseless, and terrible; And I’m sure there were no words to describe what you and your family was going… But I want to thank you for sharing it. It put everything into perspective for me. The most important post I ever read on this forum.

I would like to thank you for your personal messages and concern. This site provided me with a short escaped in some dark hours. Gargantua, thanks for the advice and concern you ahve shown to my family andmyself. Those first two weeks were rough on my mind; mentally I ate, slept and lived with my dead in-laws everywhere I went.  I now understand how men come back from war, changed.
