Generally pacific builds consists of a 2 to 1 ratio of subs-destroyer. Following turn is 5-6 bombers. This forces Japan to start building fleet instead of troops for India/China crush.
I just had to give som additional thumbs up fo9r this comment :D Buying other combat ships than subs, dds (Or CW + ftrs) is rarely correct. the 2 to 1 ratio shos that sean knows how fodder works and how it is the most important thing in these battles.
The only reason to stop buying the subs is if japan for some reason dont respond with fleetbuilding and only buys planes instead. But then you should win anyways :D
which is why i said that it didn’t work against a too planeheavy japan. on theory, the DDs + other surface ships ofc needs to be enough to stop all the planes of japan + 2 rounds of plane only builds of japan.
What would prevent japan from attacking your fleet of subs-destroyers with air and a few destroyers. With 20+ planes they can whipe out your whole fleet with minimal losses as subs cant even hit the planes.
I normaly go for a carrier heavy fleet followed by subs destroyers for attacking power. Ideally i want my carriers to bait an early attack from japan that i can crush in the counter and get his carriers and BB out of the way so anzac and UKP can clean up the rest.

@captainwalker The UK Europe economy can never collect IPCs from territories under the UK Pacific economy, and vice versa, even if the regional capital of that economy is held by the Axis. See page 35 of the Europe Rulebook.

So if Russia, the US, or Anzac retake West India, Borneo, Malaya etc. from Japan and India is Japanese controlled why do they get that income but not UKE?
-
@cond1024 It is the same situation that would exist if Leningrad were recaptured by the Allies while Moscow is in Axis hands. If USSR does the recapturing, it cannot collect the income, but if another Allied power does the recapturing that power can collect the income. The only difference is that UK’s territories’ administration is divided between two regional capitals.

Is the number of physical pieces also the limitation of the maximum number of allowed pieces? Specific case: Germany has 12 tanks out of the box, and 9 on the board of starting set-up. Can Germany ever have more than 12 tanks at one time?

No.
See rulebook, page 7:
Plastic Chips
Use the chips to save space in overcrowded territories and sea zones. Gray chips represent 1 combat unit each, green chips represent 3 units each, and red chips represent 5 units each. For example, if you wanted to place 10 infantry on a space, you would stack up 1 red chip, 1 green chip, 1 gray chip, and 1 infantry unit on top. The number of stacks is not limited by the number of plastic pieces available. (If you don’t have enough pieces to top off all your stacks, use any identifying item, such as a piece of paper with the unit type written on it.)

Is colombia bordering sz 89?
(I dont think it is, but why make the borders so complicated if it is not?)

-
@oysteilo No, they are not adjacent to each other. Per page 8 of the Europe Rulebook, “Spaces that meet only at a point (such as United Kingdom and sea zone 111) are not adjacent to one another, as they do not share a common border.”
-
@Krieghund I think your response is correct but I am sure there are alot of people from Cartagena who don’t appreciate that :)

Yea triplea does it correctly for movement. I will add a Notification or Game Note about it.
Elk suggested a couple solutions. Make a thick white border that is impassable or hack off Columbia and give it to Venezuela.
I kinda prefer the 1st option. I mean Columbia has over 2000 miles of coastline irl lol
I’ll try and do it for the next update but my map graphic triplea skills quite limited :)
I have a couple other things todo as well for it. -
You are awesome.
-
heh heh
my ex wife would differ on that :)
Edit
Do you have a preference ? Idk I guess giving it to Venezuela would be easiest but … I will ask @Black_Elk again since it’s his map.I think he’s in Baldur’s Gate somewhere :)

No thick white border,
because there are beautiful thin black borders everywhere. I checked my globe, and yes Black Elk is way too correct.I agree, change Colombia’s border with Venezuela in a way the Colombia does not touch 89.
Perhaps changing the shape, or moving Central America so that it ends up touching South America a bit to the east may be a lever to pull. But the shape of Central America as it is now, looks so beautiful. To agree with the boardgame, just gotta give Venezuela a bunch of Colombia, yes
