i have 2 US carriers with 2 US and 2 UK ftrs. If I move just one carrier do i decide myself if there is 1, 2 or no UK ftrs onboard. The AI automatically carries 1 ftr during NCM

Yeah, I thought I really messed that up, but now if you attack it could work to my advantage!
that move was a cross between evil genius and moron… probably the latter since I didn’t even see the potential for landing in sha… real bone head oversight!  :-P :-P :-P :-P :-P
It looked that way at first blush yesterday…. but yeah, probably not going to be a blunder.
-
Yeah this is a game where the allies don’t have to take many risks. Build up and then crush!

Bump
-
sorry, just moving up…
-
Yeah this is a game where the allies don’t have to take many risks. Build up and then crush!Â
I was thinking about moving everything to Carolines, but I know I should probably avoid giving you a desperate attack to try and get lucky… But it still might be a good move because even if you get lucky you’ll probably lose too much, and if you don’t attack it I can threaten so many things…
Need to run my home-made calculator on it though…
-
Yeah, that’s what I thought you would do…
good move for you. Bad for Japan… Blah :-P
-
It ain’t happenin’ tonight, but good chance I will go tomorrow…

Z55 - SS (Z56)
Z46 - 3 FTR (Haw)Wait - I just put a question on the FAQ.  I would like to get the sub and destroyer from west of Australia to Z54 after attacking your destroyer in 55 for one round.  If I can legally send a transport from Z54 to attack Z55 with them, then I could retreat them all to Z54 if I miss in the first round, and even effectively move my destroyer 3 spaces  :-D
Making sure it’s legal first. Â Will have to wait until I get an answer from Krieghund. Â If the answer is yes, maybe we’ll all have a new tactic available for moving fleets…
-
The rules on retreat are very specific. If you attack and then withdraw, you must retreat any units in a sz from whence came at least one unit. So I agree, you can effectively move 3 spaces. But the units moving must be in the battle.
At least that is how I read it.
-
Oh, I see what you are saying, can you retreat to sz from which only a trn came. Hmmm… does the rule say from whence only combat units came? have to look.
-
I looked. It doesn’t.
-
Yeah, it doesn’t. Although I suppose according to theory, you should be able to retreat to a sz from whence a unit came that was able to initiate combat, which would not be a trn. But hopefully Krieghund will say.
-
Well, I can go ahead and play it like it’s not allowed… it’s not a huge deal here
-
Yeah, it’s minor, whatever you want to do is fine with me.

Transports:
Unit Characteristics
No Combat Value:
Even though a transport can attack or defend, either alone or with other units, it has a combat value of 0.I’m guessing it’s legal.
Still trying to decide about the Carolines, though, and if I’m going for the Carolines I won’t try it anyway because I’ll want the transports in 33
