    @Imperious:

Does not make sense. No tactical bombers, plus they didn’t use the new German sub from 1941 or the bomber. Why not use all the new sculpts that they already paid for and include as updated components?  Why not include a few of those tiger tanks too?

It makes perfect sense. They want us to buy 1941. If the new sculpts were also in global it would hinder sales on 1941. They know that many will buy that game just for the sculpts. It is a bit annoying though.

  • It makes perfect sense. They want us to buy 1941.

If they were interested in selling games, they might actually officially publish the fact that they produced two new AA games and actually put some info on their website. Second, 1941 predates the release of 1940 by like 60 days and these are two different games in many respects.

You know very well if they put the most recent sculpts in these games, they would sell even better.

1941 is for an entirely different type of gamer and is sold in different stores like toys r us. 1941 is also in places like Target and big box stores. That is why the box is smaller.

Toys R Us never sold Europe or Pacific 1940…it does not fit the consumer profile because it’s complicated compared to the games sold typically.

By comparing the the photo of the back of the 1st edition box I discovered that it is a Photoshoped version of the original. Three areas are noticeably different. The national production chart is now on the map near the top, and the components on the sides of the boards have been edited over to show the new pieces. Actually the combat strip on the lower right looks to be AA41.1

We should also remember that the back of the box is always a prototype image and cant be taken too literal. Thats typical for lots of boardgames.

    You’re Welcome.

Has anyone EVER seen french Armor in Africa during gameplay?

How would that even be possible?

On top of that Italy has an American Bomber for it’s sculpt…

    Missed opportunity.

Actually, if you look carefully, you’ll see that’s a Piaggio P.108 and not a B-17. They do look very similar though… had me fooled as well at first glance!

  • Are you 9 or 10 years old Garg?

Seems like something my 9 year old niece might type on Facebook.

  • @Gargantua:

is that a bren gun carrier I see on the back of box?

Did squire cam send you these photos he ALSO found on the box?
Definetly the new Mechanized Artillery piece. For sure.

I’m talking about the Tan colored square thing on the back of the box in FEA with 2 UK inf., 1 UK tank and a french artillery
look just above the UK Tac. Bomber

It`s a secret WOTC approved super strategy!  Bid 6 for allies and place your French tank in North Africa.  GENIUS!

  • We only saw about 1/3 of the game and people are already complaining.
    I hope they don t mess up like the 1941 15 ipc instead of 17    and 42 2nd edition 30 and 40 instead 31 and 41 ipc.

That is indeed a Bren-Gun Carrier.  I wonder why they released a Half-Track instead?

Maybe it has to do with the same reason we got Italian Panther Tanks…

If it is a Bren-Gun Carrier it would be wield because you can also see an American Half-track in UK colors. And you laughed when I asked about it.

So it’s cheaper to photoshop than to take a new picture, who’d a thunk it.

    Yavid,

What really happend is I found myself, and others, all squinting over a bunch of hopeless grainy, and inconsistent pictures.  That have clearly been manufactured.

    Then I realized the comparison…

We all take this game SO SERIOUSLY here - we have trying to decipher crayon on a napkin, to see what’s been changed and what hasn’t.  Because we just can’t POSSIBLY bear waiting 4 more weeks for the official release.  And we all want to believe in fantasies (Like Bren Gun Carriers)  I mean hell - it’s on the box!

  • It’s just like when they manufactured the pictures of the Apollo moon landings and made them grainy on purpose just so people would see what we WANT to see.  Bastards!

  • You mean we never landed on the moon!
I do not know what to say. They lied to us.
I feel cheated, violated. Dirty even.
Anyway, so we think Italy is still buying Stukas from Germany?
I think Italy’s only ground attack aircraft was the Breda 65.  A slow
and old,  hard to handle plane that was no match for a modern Fighter.
The twin engined SIAI Marchetti SM79 was a great torpedo bomber, so could have been their Tac.  I think most of us recognise it and it could have been used as Itsly did have a 4 engined bomber: the Piaggio P.108B(a Flying Fortress!)
