Haven’t seen the new movie yet, but the Clone Wars television cartoon featured some of the best Star Wars storytelling of recent years, especially the season 5 Darth Maul arc.  Star Wars Rebels is watchable but not quite as good, though moving towards climax now with Thrawn as the main antagonist.  Chopper is probably my all-time favorite Star Wars character.

I think Rebels is every bit as good as Clone Wars. I haven’t caught any of the new season yet but I’m eager for it to hit blu-ray. The Rebels creators get Star Wars a lot more than our recent film creators do.

When I went to Fort McHenry, I was told by the ranger there, “‘The Dawn’s Early Light’ is the definitive volume on the campaign, specifically leading up to the Battle of Baltimore.” Great text, reads like Cornelius Ryan’s classic, “A Bridge Too Far.”

I’d wager on ‘bitter’ as well. A killing prisoners and not even marginal attempts to limit collateral damage to civilians, scorched earth, Soviets-Nazis kind of ‘bitter.’

There are no permenant lines so that alternate land sets could be made and layed down over the water base color. Originally we would lay down low tack adheasive narrow black tape but found that on a map that large, the zones are obvious and you really don’t need them. The next stage that we never got around to was an elevated plexi layer to place the aircraft on.

Note - in addition to a naval force and over 2000 troops (including the renowned Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry), the Black Watch and the Joint Task Force 2’s are all in the muck.  Meanwhile hundred’s of millions have been earmarked for humanitarian aid and the RCMP and Canadian army instructors are training Afghan police and military units.
