I went when I was really young. I think I mainly visited resorts and amusement parks.
Who are you?

I’m curious about the people who share my interest in this game. If you would, tell everyone a little about yourself. I’ll start.
My name is William Cook I’m 29 I live in Phoenix Arizona. I’m Married and have 2 kids. I started playing A&A when I was in high school about 15 years ago. I played for 8 or 9 years, through highschool and college. I stopped playing for a couple years, but last year I pulled out the old box and blew off the dust. I have managed to get a group together here in Phoenix to play, hopefully semi-regularly. I have also tried playing by E-mail and online, but nothing beats five guys in the same room moving pieces with one hand and shoveling beer and pretzels with the other!
I ran a little longer than I intended there, but I would like to know some basics about the people here.
-
Good idea.
My name is EJ Fagan, I’m 14 (yeah I’m young but I’ll whoop you all in a game anyway!) From Ramsey NJ. I play with about 25 different guys (Games big in our town, not much else to do in the Small-Town-Suberbs) I’m in the top of our group, and own every Axis and Allies game except europe and Europe at war (Not much of a fan of Europe)
-
My name is Calvin; I’m 31, and I’ve been playing A&A on and off for many years.
I also belong to an online-gaming guild called Hell’s Elite Legions www.hel-guild.com and I have a small website dedicated to Battletech miniatures (which I paint). www.withawhimper.com
I just recently happened upon this website, and I dig it…I’ll definitely be checking it out from time to time.
BTW, does anyone ever play the online A&A with other forum members? Might be a fun thing to start…

I’m Geoffrey Buck, I’m 15, and I live in the growing town of Lacombe, Alberta (that’s in Canada for the geographicly uninclined). I first played the game about 5 years ago but have only found others willing to play in the past year or so. The game has become quite popular amoung my friends and one in our group recently bought Europe. I also plan on purchasing Pacific soon. I plan on playing and creating wonderful stratagem for many years to come.

Bart Hendrix, 19 years, from the Netherlands =), Not too many players around here, so I dont play against other people from my region. And its damn hard to get the expansions in a shop nearby. Im trying to get Europe now and maybe Pacific in the coming year as well. Ive been playing A&A on the zone since about a week, my name is greensleeves_16 in there (Im a Blackmore fan =) ). And i been studying history for 2 years now and everything’s going fine. Catch me on the zone sometime and ill be happy to lose =).

I’m B.J., 14, and first played 2-3 years ago. I got A&A and A&A Europe last Christmas, and A&A Pacific for my birth day…

Hi, I am Borre van Stigt from Amersfoort in Holland. This introducing bit is a great idea! I play Axis and Allies for about six years now and I have got Europe and Pacific. Especially putting those two together makes a great game. I have a gaming group with wich I play A&A every month and some other friends with whom I play regularly too. Greensleeves, where are you from in Holland? It would be fun to play a game sometime, besides, I will probably be studying history too next year:). Fixing a league on this site is a great idea!!

I, my name is Marc-Alexandre Camirand, I’m 23 and I live in montreal. I’m an electronic technician and i’ve been playing for about 2 years now. Unfortunately I don’t really have a group of players now. My friends are much more talkers than players. They love the game but are to chicken to play as often as we could. Let me tell you guyz that having found this site I feel a little less alone.

My real name is Brandon. I hail from Chickamauga, GA - some of you American Civil War buffs may be familiar with that town in northwest Georgia. I currently live and work in Atlanta.
I got into Axis and Allies in 1991 while in high school. I played a lot while in college at Georgia Tech. I still remember the feeling of staying up all night, seeing the first rays of daylight, and hearing the birds begin to chirp outside.
Haven’t played much since then - about '96 - except online at the zone. An A&A.org league sounds like fun.

I’m Paul. I’m 34 years old, married with 3 kids. I’ve been playing for 17 years on and off since high school and through my military service of 6 years. The best aspect of the game is the never ending updates in strategy. It’s got me hooked for life. The PC version opened a new world. Look foward to talking to you all. P.S. - David, I sent you the “Russia’s War” strategy. Hope you can post it.

Hi Nils and Greensleeves,
first I’ll answer your question about where to get it, In amersfoort or Utrecht it is avilable but a friend of mine got it in Arnhem in Het spelkwartier, maybe thats better. Besides post your phone number, perhaps we can play a game, especially Nils, Utrecht and Amersfoort are pretty close. -
thanks a lot mate, i bought Europe in Arnhem , im saving for pacific now.
4 nils: it costed me 180 guilders, i think thats standard for netherlands isnt it? i saw it on some places for 200, but there is a shop in Essen i think in Germany where they sell them for only 140 guilders.

you’re welcom
you’re wright about saving, A&A-P is very expensive hereps kraaikamer, hope you’ve got the cd-rom so we can play soon….
gtz nils

I have not got the cd-rom but I thought we could visit each other and play a regular game on a gameboard.
P.S. I got my two games for a 175 guilders each so I guess 180 aint too bad, you should maybe visit a games festival like Spellenspektakel in Eindhoven. There they genereally sell their stuff a bit cheaper.

Hi, my name is Robert Wilson, but people call me Robby. I am 14 and am a freshman in high school in Marietta, Georgia, United States. (northwest of Atlanta). I started playing when I was ten and haven’t been able to play much. I got the game and taught my brothers (12,7)to play, but needless to say they are not a challenge and I can beat them repeatedly on a bad luck day. Then last summer I played my friend from Church (he’s 16) and…got my butt kicked, three times. I even had extraordinarily good luck one of the games. Then I found this site. I don’t get on much but I really enjoy discussing strategies I would never be able to think up on my own. (Until recently I thought that it was a bad idea for russia to attack, not first turn, not ever.) I’ve only played my friend from church once since then, and I still lost, but not as badly. Needless to say, I really like the game and my main problem is getting people to play in my area. (I don’t own the CD-ROM, (nor do I know where to find it), so I can’t play online)
If you’ve read this far I thank you as this was a long post for me. I hope to be on more often in January.
P.S.-does anyone know what stores (not online as I have no credit card, or checking account either)have A&A CD-ROM, and how much it costs. -
Hi! My name is Daniel Ferruccio, 22 years old, from Vancouver, Canada (west coast). I’ve been playing A&A off and on for about two years now. Usually every Sunday 4 buddies and myself get together for the classic board game match. And if anyone out there can tell me if there’s a Mac version of the CD game (which I doubt there is), it would be greatly appreciated.
