I can’t quite make out the board. Would you take 2 pictures, each one half of the board, so I can get a better view?
Did your group okay getting outside advice for an active game? If not, then I cannot help you as that would be unethical.
Or just make yourself some of these….
Snazzy!!!
Oh shit son. I never thought of using decorative trim to make the boxes. The wife is going to kill me for sure now since I’ve not even trimmed the doors and windows in the new bedroom yet but I’ll be doing this stuff. Nice knowing you guys. Bury me with my painted A&A pieces please.
We will, as long as your wife did not burn the house around cremating you as you were painting at the time!
Still a pity we have to come up with solutions though.
Oh, I miscounted, thought there was 10 on the card, but there is 12

And she has every right to do so!
(I like the trim as well, btw. I just made mine out of cherry and brass pins, stained it and gave it a piano finish.)

Oooooh - Pic please?
Yea, when I go back to the storage facility I’ll pull the box out and take some photos.
To picture it, think a small jewelry box (because that’s what I adapted originally, then built the compartment walls, stained them, and hammered in some brass buttons.)
Cmdr Jennifer,
The storage case you describe sounds lovely. The one pictured above looks really nice too. My problem is that I keep changing my mind on how I want my pieces arrainged in my containers so I keep changing things around until I find something that suits me. Of course, it probably doesn’t help that I keep so many pieces on hand either. While I have toyed with the idea of constructing some type of customized piece storage, I would be afraid to put that much work into something only to find later that I don’t like the setup. So, I will stick with the simple plastic.
I’ve taken to using Plano or Flambeau adjustable containers for my game pieces. You can find them in the sporting goods departments of most stores (they are meant for holding fishing lures and such). I just love them but I am starting to accumulate quite a few because I keep changing how I want my containers organized and with accomodating the new sculpts
Same here. I organize my sculpts in Flambeau storage boxes too, and with the arrival of AA41 and AA42(2nd ed) I’ve decided as a project for this weekend to start rearranging my storage system, which puts into different compartments different versions (by colour and shape) of the same sculpts, plus leaves blocks of empty space here and there to absorb future expansions. The U.S. expanded to four trays when Pacific 1940 and Europe 1940 came out, but it may now need five to take 41, 42, and the two upcoming second editions of P40 and E40. Britain, Russia, Germany and Japan had been running at three trays each, but may now grow to four. The other countries use one tray each and I don’t expect that to change even when P40 and E40 come out. (One thing I’m very curious about is whether the “new ANZAC sculpts” that were announced by WotC will include a distinct infantry piece rather than just the colour variant of the British troop sculpt we got in the original P40.)
@wittman:
Also hate how all the bags say: Made in China. Pity.
I read about a veteran who, on a visit to the Marine Corps Monument at Arlington which shows the flag raising at Iwo Jima, bought a miniature replica of the statue, turned it over and saw “Made in Japan” written on it. He was upset at first, but later he felt better when he started to view it as a demonstration of the desirable fact that the US and Japan were now at peace.
i don’t feel cheated at all not having some sort of way to keep the piece sorted, Ever since the old Europe game was released I’ve always put all my piece for every game in plastic trays I bought at home depot. I think I’ve gotten to the point I could play global without using a single plastic chip. The only ones not in those plastic trays is the clown nose red japanese pieces from the old pacific they are in a zip lock bag in the game box.
