How you guys making your maps

Dear all,

I don’t know if ‘requests’ are allowed on this forum.
But I was wondering: did anyone ever create a new map or map overlays for this expansion?

Adding some new areas would be nice.

some more areas in Libya ‘connecting’ the three USSR regions in the North port areas for the extra USSR fleets that can be brought into play (a VERY nice feature of this game!) some more areas in Sudan / Eastern Africa

Yes. I own this game. And I really like to play it. One can call it my ‘Axis and Allies Guilty Pleasure’…

I determined the biggest size that would fit on my dining room table would be 28 inches by 51 inches.  Can I go to a print shop have them down a map and print it in that size?

You definitely can print the map I shared with the community (look at 2Huskies link) at this size.

I have essentially already done that

This pic is of IL’s map and I am making a custom table for these smaller 1 on 1 games. Will have the wing affect on end like my 2 custom gaming tables with 1 dice box and battle boards. I will post pics when I get it done. Guys in group looking to play this game.
I’ll be able to take it anywhere I want to play.

Yes IL I know about the flooring. Just ain’t around. I’m still looking.

Wolfshanze: sounds cool, that would probably be a bit safer when it comes to spilling ect…which is going to be an issue with my table :/

working on the table at work, due to summer holidays i cant continue untill mid august, i’ll post finished pics then…

I recommend to follow the map1942.2-thread in the AA1942 section, the latest version of the map is linked there.

For sure it would be awesome to make our own at home!

In the meantime, if you really want to and can come up with an appropriate 3d art file, Shapeways would be a good alterntative for some special items (they spent the money on the uber-expensive equipment already).  It just sucks to have to wait for it, pay their overhead and then pay for shipping.

I’d LOVE to have a 3d printer though!

The file service named Mediafire, already has this. There is not need to run up costs on this site to allow downloads. Why not use that free service?

Plus we already got IL’s map thread with most of these map files. If that is not true, post all the files there that are missing.
