It was only a 33% shot anyways, but had my bomber been able to knock out the air base I at least had a shot at Berlin. GG, I surrender as I’m not in position to retake a VC and the aa hitting took out my one chance at salvaging my position.

GG - I am really glad I didn’t have to continue as Italy against your oppressive submarines in the Mediterranean. :-P I was as good as gone had the game continued any longer.

Thanks, unfortunately my partner started me off bad in the med and you capitalized brilliantly with taking and than holding Egypt. I knew I was in trouble then.
Looking back on the game, I probably spent too much in the pacific with US and not enough in the Atlantic. Granted I pretty much killed the IJN in the process and would’ve finished most of the rest off with the Aussies on their turn. But Japan going with several factories coupled with the quick axis victory in Europe negated the lack of IJN. Maybe I could’ve taken advantage of the lack of IJN by taking islands over the next couple of rounds, but India would’ve been swamped and all the IPCs from USSR, India, and China would’ve offset any Japanese losses by island capture.

You did a good job against Japan. And you looked like you might have been a turn away from retaking Egypt. I think it was a mistake for Japan to have moved its fleet to Java; and you seemed ready to capitalize on Japan’s naval errors with your ANZAC fleet and with your blockading submarines.
But like you said, Japan was very strong on the mainland. Once India fell, Japan would have been able to spend most of its money on its fleet. Granted it would have had some catching up to do, especially after the ANZAC ATTAC you described. This was a close game, and you created problems for us in a lot of areas.
