@farmboy it might still default to something close to what we end up. Both players have to be thinking both that they don’t want to give anything to their opponent and they want to a good position if htey end up with allies. I think that might lead to well placed but low cost units (which along with a fig or two makes the most sense in a standard bid game.

and the funny thing is, i was strongly considering sending in the fighter as well but i thought, if i do that it will get shot down and i will lose an hit from my infantry, which is EXACTLY what would have happened since the first roll was a 1.

i guess it wasn’t terrible, just one hit short. would have really hurt if i’d send the fighter and lost it, and lost the infantry hit as well, then i would have been a plane down and 2 hits below avg. made the right choice for once!
