I’ll meet this “master” yoshi any time on the G40 forum… I’ll meet anyone ready for a G40 game. G40 is the apotheosis of A&A games in my opinion.  Just the right amount of complexity with playability. I looked at the that massive global game from Historical gaming and it had a lot of problems. Territory size, spacing etc.

Yeah, I don’t think he does G40. Yet. I’ve only played him once and it would have been good but he got a great defense in Russia early in the game that crippled me. He rarely loses though.
G40 is incredible and I’m just starting to really taste it here a little bit.
I looked at the total world war manual and it looks like too much for me. I couldn’t figure out Third Reich back when I was 18 either, but no one to show me. I still own it.

With the game totally on the line in the Pacific, I finally decided the 6 units in CUS needed to head toward Hawaii and Australia ASAP. Spain isn’t nearly as attractive when I don’t have waves coming from the USA. And Turkey was tenuous anyway, and the British don’t have the reinforcements to threaten from the Black Sea. Considered it all - trust me. That USA turn took me pretty much all day. Which is why G40 will probably remain #2 in my book… But you can play well with not a lot of time, seemingly. It’s taken me 5 times as long as you to put out a competitive game, and you still might slam dunk me in 12 rounds

Hm - just realized if I had taken North Italy I would have a great shot on Italy with the UK. Oh well, I’ll use all the air on the Germans and avoid the AA for another turn…

no, I hear you… global’s a time hog… I;ve been chewing on it since it came out. The original theater games were seriously flawed. P40 was Japan sure win, Europ 40 was allies sure win. G40 alpha 2 was pretty good in my book. G40 3.9… well, lets see :wink:
