Fun day of gaming
Play with you later - prob tomorrow -
Your map doesn’t have fighters moved to Hong Kong and FIC
Did you change your mind? Where are they? -
You moved infantry from Tsa twice on your map
It should only be in Olg, not Tim
I’ll have it right on my map -
Oh yeah move Fred to fix and hon
Thanks
-
got them then - thanks
-
You should probably be inviting me into SBR’s, though
Those fighters are probably protecting me by deterring me more than they’re protecting you  -
Yeah, thought of that after I went to bed. It gives me two shots at your plane with a chance you could shoot a ftr down and do damage to the miIC. I have never shot down a bomber with a ftr though.
-
Don’t know why he reduced them to 1’s. With all the bombers and tacs shooting at 1’s, plus escort fighters…
Maybe we’ll find out with further game play.
Makes jets technology more attractive though. -
At least he doesn’t make escorts endure AA fire like in AA50
-
I think interceptors should be a 2, escorts 1, bombers at 1…
-
Yep
I do like the change to rolling dice on convoys and allowing planes to disrupt.
Dutchman claimed “most players” like it the old way better and house rule it, but I don’t.
Safe to say now that my subs left a 6 IPC’s out there and would have raided 4 the old way but only raided 1.
I like that you can’t guarantee the amount of losses, but also have a chance to destroy more than before. There’s still no risk, like with SBR’s… And if you have enough boats it’s still 99% chance of disrupting max…I wonder what he means by “most”. 2 out of 3 of the people he’s played, including himself?
Anyway, like it or not it’s the official rules so you can’t deviate from them unless both players agree
-
Convoy system is fine. I like the old Europe system where convoys were their own spaces with value, but that was probably a little much to put on the limited space of this board
Interested to see what USA does next round as I sit here listening to a seminar on wage an hour claims
-
Hehe about the seminar
Will see what I can do…. maybe get some tech to spice things up
I gotta remember you could surprise me with tech - lull me to sleep by never buying any, and then WHAM - a big game-changing tech. It’s been a long time since I played tech in any game. Glad you allowed it into this game - it’s been fun throwing my money away -
Forgot last time that liberating France gets them 12 IPC’s worth of units right away - was thinking the 5 IPC NO replaced that, but no
Of course, if you liberate you immediately lose the forward complex and can’t place there…. but the French units are also placed immediately, so it’s pretty crazy. I have to figure out whether I should move in this turn, I guess…
And what to do about the Pacific now that my presence is greatly diminished. Japan had a perfect round! :-) -
I never played any of the theater A&A games that came out
Zones with value does sound good -
Ha! I was just thinking that this could be a game where France could actually be reactivated with a reasonable chance of success.
In all the global games I have played tech has not made much difference. I think that mostly due to the particular circumstances of the games though. If the US got shipyards… oh man.
-
Hey question:
When you do tech you: 1. buy as many dice you want, 2. roll, 3. if you get any 6’s you roll for tech, but you only get one tech roll per turn no matter how many 6’s you get, right?
-
Paratroopers with various powers could be really devastating, too
Jets would be awesome…
With the amount of units, advanced artillery could even be decent and with the upgrade to mech infantry being able to blitz…There are plenty of surprise factors that could give you a serious edge, especially because your opponent is not usually expecting it like in AA50…
Gotta take my daughter’s girlfriend back home, eat lunch, and volunteer from 2-4, so probably won’t get all the way through UK done until after that, but we’ll see…
Yes, you can only get ONE tech per turn, unlike the original classic game. So it’s most efficient to buy one or two per turn
-
ok, when I read that rule again recently it caused me to pause. But it makes sense in as much it prevent someone of getting like 5 techs on one turn.
Yeah, I’ll be in and out all day too, but mostly in.
