@Midnight_Reaper i am referring to wwii v6 1941 map on Tripple A.
WOTC Reposts the Sales Flier for Axis & Allies 1941

Their is no indication that AA41 would not have all the types of pieces that are in AA42. In fact, it might even have both mech infantry and tactical bombers.
The piece count is low because they are trying to sell heap cheap for like $19-30 range so its not big deal on price.
Of course when you find out that after setup you got nothing but a few cardboard pieces left for builds, you just buy another AA41 game and harvest the pieces.

what does “die-cut” mean? some metal units?
-
The “die-cut” refers to die cut counters. They are the ones printed on cardboard and cut with a “die” so that you can punch them out, put them in a pile, and never use them again because you can’t get your $#%&@$% finger nail under it after you place one on the map.
Just sayin’…
-
My feeling is these counters have either pictures of carriers, etc or replace the plastic chips to designate multiple units.
The game should barely cover the setup because for $30 bucks WOTC spent all the money on making 16 new sculpts.
-
The “die cut” pieces are the National Control Markers, of which there will probably be 20 per nation. Also, the ICs and AA guns might be die cut pieces too.
Although, IL’s idea is interesting. Perhaps some sort of cardboard Task Force markers or Marshalling cards.

The day we start getting cardboard counters for combat units will be the day most us stop buying A&A games! :lol:

It would also be a throwback to the original Nova Games version of A&A, which used flat counters.
