All the same, I do realize that this game can encourage people to make remarks of a natonalist character, myself included.
I try to limit my remarks to the historical performance of the appropriate nation during the war, as that at least is grounded in facts, rather than impressions.
For example, I will curse the Italians blue when they under-perform on a particular dice roll, and say “Well, that’s just what you’d expect, isn’t it?”
But that’s not an indictment on the national character of Italy, it’s merely a comment on the poor performance / motivation of their troops under fascist rule, to which many of them were opposed.
You might even say that the passive resistance of the rank-and-file troops was an important element in ‘monkey-wrenching’ the Italian war machine, which is overall a good thing, historically.
But we’re getting too far afield now – my earlier indignance was brought on by a very different type of comment.
So let’s play a clean game from here on in, no hits below the belt, no more racist slurs etc., yeah?

Perhaps this is a tad hasty, but…
Regrets:
(1) Not reducing the USSR infantry stack with Japan when she was potent, Mongolian bonus be damned.
(2) Relying on blind luck in Eastern Poland to preserve the German panzer stack, rather than taking the more cautious, patient route.
(3) Not doing more to help Italy become more than a third-world military power.
The rest is down to bad dice, and solid play from our opponents…
