You said it perfectly clearly.  I just find it interesting to see two experts like yourself and Gargantua have such completely different opinions.

Well, honestly I like Rhey’s opener, it is similar to my version, I am not sure if he looked at my strategy guide and made adjustments or if it is something he worked out himself, either way it is cool and exciting… I like it.

So yeah I am going to root for the Axis in that game, plus he is the only one that did J1 DOW, which sets him apart from the pack.

kinda funny how the ending of a round1-game is being discussed, couldnt resist myself and took a look :)

japs got a fair chance of winning imho, but they have to be really quick about it - europe probably will turn ugly rather soon.

depends on a 50/50 naval battle, that is rough.

naval play is fun to do as germany from time to time. lots of options with it… this is awesome.

I am amused to see how many experts there are on G40 Alpha 3.9.  No one knows how it will end up, and the dice gods will have a significant say on the matter.

The Allies do have some advantages in certain places, such as Egypt and Yunnan.  And the Germans will have a 1 or 2 plane Luftwaffe at the close of G2.  Those factors have to be taken in when examining the “strong” position of Japan.  Let’s see what kind of hurt Japan will lay on the Allies over the next few rounds and we’ll have a better picture of how the match is going overall.

I like the axis play so far in that game, it is aggressive and good. I suspect boldutch will end up climbing the loser bracket. So you are wishing me to go to the loser bracket to face them and lose and be 0-2 out. Considering I do a similar opener to rhey’s (in fact I should add rhey’s opener to the guide as well… I will get on that ball in a sec), I am watching that game, because I want to see how it works out.

Cow, the one time I faced you it was an Anni League game last year. It went all of G5.  That was when you got the Allies’ fleet massacred in z6 and the Allies’ armies crushed in NWE all in the same German turn.  You walked away before J5 when 5 naked UK trannies were to be sunk.

Great to see that that match didn’t diminsh your confidence any.

I don’t think I’ve ever done that, but I’m not a very experienced player so I am still learning.  I have attacked Russia on J1 but never the other allies.

Yeah well I had like 70% odds as far as the fleet went, don’t remember the ground forces. So you sucked out in a dice game, it would be like me bragging about beating zhukov after watching 3 of his 5 g1 attacks fail… or me beating yamamot0 5 times in a row when he went pacific in aa50 1941. I also lost my capital when I was germany with 90% to defend in the first round of the aa50 tournament, I was like wow, I mean it was a good move, I did not think of him as the type of player to take a long shot like that.

If you want a rematch in aa50 41’, I’ll give you one. 13 bid allies, 1 unit per territory, pick a side. low luck, no tech.

I also stopped playing on the forum because Jen did something that made me only want to play games with marty server dice rolls emailed to me.

It was a 100% win when you factor the the 6 Jap fighters that were all going to hit it on J5 with no ability for Russia to interfere. It was a strategic blunder on a major scale.  Dice, yea.  The dice made you park the whole British fleet in a 100% kill zone. Â

Is that game even still around? I was gone from the forum from around that time (also dropped from a handful of other games).

nothing is 100%.  I always run the calc on back to back hits. If I was forced to gamble it then I was forced to gamble it. If you were turtling up and I did not have an interest in playing an income game and it was a go now or go never situation… then I would just go.

If you can produce the game so I can see the units left then I can tell you what my odds were of holding up.

Either way I was not exactly impressed by your performance.
