Neither of us have played PBF games before, but I am quite familiar with the rule set, as I have places several FtF games, and am generally inclined to games of this type.
Also, neither of us are experienced global players, but I have been lurking these forums in the background for about a month now, so I have some idea of what is standard, and what is stupid.

Just making sure, the Alpha3 version currently on TripleA is the one we are using, a.k.a. version 3.9?

I expect this tournament to move more quickly than people expect.
The double elimination, or “secondary” bracket, will run at the same time, and I’ll upload an Excel Spreadsheet with each team name and thier placement/games etc.
TripleA should help move things along more quickly, and I’ll have some additional rule alotments for dealing with things like players who disappear from teams etc.
32 - 16 - 8 - 4 - 2 - winner, is only 5 games, with a possibility of 6 if you come out of the secondary bracket. Yea, tournament games can often take some time, but what we can also do here, is let people play at their own pace, as soon as their opponents become available. That should bleed off some of the seed games rather quickly, and keep things moving at a quick pace.
A total of something like 68 games will be played.
As for another tourny…
Depending on the success of the tournament of extra death and pain, how long it takes, and what happens along the way, there may be another one. Hosted by yours truly of course, likely re-appearing in may, or perhaps bi-annually, which means you’d better be planning for a winterline offensive in November.

Are you, by any chance THE Guerrilla_J? The one who has a score of 2-2 with me to settle in aa50? I got 1 axis 1 allies win and you got 1 allies and 1 axis win. I haven’t seen you game on the lobby in forever, I like log in everyday hoping to see Yamamot0 or you willing to game with me again. =( I don’t think we had a dice game, they were all low luck. Let me refresh your memory I had 50/50 on russia with germany and I lost, the rest I forgot how they went, because losing that 50/50 was too funny. Either way you were the most frustrating person to play in aa50 for me.
There is another Guerilla that plays PBEM games, I heard was really good, but wasn’t sure if you two were the same person. Either way I expect your team to be the most challenging.
Soulfein is really good, we played together. He was always axis though and my allies was my weak suit till about recently.

Ok, so complete noob here drafted, and I need a team.
I am warning you now; I don’t mince words. When I say noob, I mean nahoooo-buhhhh. The only A&A experience I have is a half-hearted game of Revised (I think) about ten years ago, and one complete turn of Spring '42. I recently picked up Spring '42, and I pretty well have the rules down for it. I just haven’t had much chance to play. Most of my friends don’t have the attention span for games like these.
I have downloaded TripleA, and I fiddled with it a bit.
Pick me if you are completely prepared to have no shot winning $200. haha
I haven’t been able to really come up with a base-line strategy for this game yet, so expect extra noob-sauce on this Big Mac.
