I just beat the computer in three turns…

I am a soldier currently deployed to Baghda, Iraq. My fellow soldiers in my platoon and my self love playing A&A. We have all 5 versions and they help make our downtime more enjoyable. Our problem is this, we live in very small trailer type 2 man living units that do not really have enough room to play A&A. What I am looking for are any kind of program that we could use to play on our laptop. I am sure there is an answer somewhere on this forum but my internet connection is so slow here that iy would take me a lifetime to searh through all of them. Thanks in advance for any help given.

Choose from different versions!

Using three boards is basically an alternative to having to write down all the info instead.  I think a btter alternative and keeps the game much more playable.  It helps if you have a third (neutral) person that can moderate between the three boards.  This can also help keep encourage each player to keep game turns short.

Imperious Leader gives a good example of the three board play with his Jutland game.  It’s under the “Other Axis and Allies Variants” section

Kar. should be taken the first turn, but only to partially delete it’s forces. Only as a blitzkrieg secondary effort to move your armor and fighters to Moscow. Destroy the UK navy all that you can also on the first turn. The Allies pose no threat in WE if you leave your forces there. Moscow can be taken in Round 2.

It worked for me. With alot of luck. Depends on the option you play with also.

I don’t bother taking Hawaii on J1, it is only 1 ipc and slows down the necessary Jap push in Asia. A smart US player will ignore this, and the possibility of Jap strat bombing the west coast isn’t too great a concern until much later in the game (when the game should already be decided). A smart Jap player will be better off strat bombing USSR - becasue the bomber(s) will be in position to assist other endeavers such as a possible capture of Moscow. However, if I am trying for economic victory as the Axis, I will likely take it (perhaps turn 7).

Sadly, the v133 patch does not fix everything and there are still a lot logical errors to be dealt with. For instance, for some reason I can still have more than one AA gun in the same territory. It is not these errors that enrage me (anybody can avoid these problems by just not performing them), but the horrid AI in the game and the sudden crashes (the later being somewhat corrected in v133).

But what are the Allies to do in the Atlantic? USA lacks the distance to make it particularly damaging to Germany’s Western Front.
