I don’t bother taking Hawaii on J1, it is only 1 ipc and slows down the necessary Jap push in Asia. A smart US player will ignore this, and the possibility of Jap strat bombing the west coast isn’t too great a concern until much later in the game (when the game should already be decided). A smart Jap player will be better off strat bombing USSR - becasue the bomber(s) will be in position to assist other endeavers such as a possible capture of Moscow. However, if I am trying for economic victory as the Axis, I will likely take it (perhaps turn 7).

i really didn’t have to reply to this one, but seriously, how can you be so lucky? even the luckiest people i’ve played with wouldn’t dare that much. strategically, though, even if that did work i would buy all inf. instead of those armor because the krauts would likely be able to counterattack all those areas with the possible exc. of finland-norway.

he might have the PC version, and if you download that off the internet i highly doubt it comes with a full rulebook

I don’t think you would have to worry about Kerilia being taken T1. This rarely happens and actually does more damage to the Nazi war machine. As for me, I would take Ukraine first as it posses the least amount of retailation from Germany. If Eastern Europe is taken, Germany can just counter attack from both sides, reinforcing Eastern Europe while they’re at it. As for Finland. They can wait until T2, as they’re bascially sitting ducks trapped on an “island.”

But what are the Allies to do in the Atlantic? USA lacks the distance to make it particularly damaging to Germany’s Western Front.
