Sure!
Looking for gamers up for playing Napoleonic Empires, play by forum (on triplea)
-
@Cow:
I’ll take France. I’ll prepare to defend myself from the onslaught of nations.
I do not lie and I keep my word in FFA games. I offer no permanent truces to anyone, only NAPS, if you nap with me we agree to provide a notice of breaking naps 1 full round in advance, should you break your nap agreement with me without notice - prepare to witness all of my units advancing upon your country. I offer no alliances only terms of agreement such as you attack this and I attack that.
I vote everyone ally against cow! ;-)
I keed I keed, but I’m still not sure how this game will develop. I should be able to control my little sea if I chose to and have option of landing against Prussia or Russia. Or I could sail out into open seas and challenge Great Britain. Or focus on keeping my toehold(s) on the mainland and go from there. I don’t know what I’m going to do yet . . . . maybe I should start reaching out to others.
-
Careful with that kind of talk - it will get you into trouble.
My plan is to play it quietly and fairly, until the first person attacks or slights me. Then it’s going to be an all out suicide against them with the entirerty of Prussian forces.
LOOK OUT.

The Ottoman will ally with the most righteous and honorable empires.
-
waiting for Canuck to pick his player, then we can start….
-
Canuck12 has opted to take Austria.
(He is my RL friend)

Do we want to use a Dice Server? If so, send me your emails, and I’ll include you on the Dice server mails. If noone wants to, I’ll just use the internal dice roller.
I’ll make a forum post, and start the savegame, then pass it off to Cow for the first turn.
god i am excited about this…
-
Where is the forum post! Also is this the FFA version or the other one?
-
tomorrow cow….
yes, FFA version
-
In the future I’d like to try the 270BC map PBF too! I love that map (although I’m a total rookie with it)
-
Anyway any common advice I should know about the Ottoman usual strategy in this game?
( Newbie hints like “Don’t buy Navy with Russia in Axis and Allies” ) -

Mmmm… maybe we should roll dices in this forum, just to ensure nobody cheats. Also, this way we prevent people going suspicious about cheats
We need at least using a dice server. Internal dice roller seems not optimal
-
I am not worried about anyone here cheating, but yeah whatever people are comfy with.

Using a dice server is Just as secure as rolling them in the forum (and possibly more secure). Everyone who wants to see them, will be emailed each die directly by the server.
Besides, rolling dice in the forum completely defeats the purpose of using triplea.
@ noll,
There are hints for all nations in the game notes. I highly recommend reading the game notes.
Ottomans are pretty easy. Don’t let russia build up in in the caucasus or aermenian areas, as it is very easy for ottomans to lose territory there if they don’t defend well. Other than that, you can hold off 2 powers at war with you very easily. -

How works using a dice server? If it’s similar to rolling in the forum, we could use forum anyway. If it’s like frood, probably we should use forum dices instead
But I can play with the internal TripleA dices… I assume this is a PBEM game, not a on-line game, true?
-
I’m good with having the server dice so long as at least two people are getting them. I trust most of the people here except cow . . . he’s a little shady.
Seriously though, having two people that can verify dice rolls should be plenty to keep people and each other from being tempted.

You can’t really use forum dice easily with TripleA.
give me your email, and you will see what a “dice server” is really quick…
-
FYI to everyone who is giving me emails:
you will get emails from Marti [at] tripleawarclub.org
you will get an email each time a set of dice are rolled.
so please set up a “rule” in your email account to move these dice to a folder
example:
I have hotmail
in hotmail (and i know gmail does too), you can set up an email rule, where incoming emails are filtered
I created a new folder called “dice”, and I set up the rule that any email from the dice server goes into that folderI did this so that my main inbox does not get spammed. You could also setup individual folders within dice for each of your TripleA games.

Yea Func, once it’s setup it’s really easy.
I offered my Email, so did Canuck. Dice will be fairly observed. Looking forward to this game starting!
