G1 Attack on Russia?

They’re are three territories in USSR far worth a total of 3 ICP that Japan and take over and still not piss of Mongolia. I have only ever seen a player do this once but Japan and USSR not going to war is usually very useful for Japan as it keeps a front close and 9/10 times, USSR will be the one to invade which turns Mongolia into a strict neutral.

Also if Japan holds off until J2 to DoW, but the US player is either dead certain it will happen or hopes to discourage Sea Lion, they can slap a Naval Base on Greenland and load it up with their starting Atlantic forces US1, then drop the troops off in Scotland or Ireland US2.  If London is saved at that point, you’re still in a decent position to threaten landings from France to Norway, or even farther if the UK player can be accommodating enough to give you a Naval Base.

Yes, on the next round of combat after the final enemy destroyer has been removed as a casualty.

Well, I’ve had success with SBR’s on London in a previous game, but my mistake was to not combine it with a legit or fake attempt at sealion (thereby forcing London to pay the damage).

Won’t be making that mistake again.

A little off topic but here it is  last nite ALPHA+2 and operation Barbarossa was successful. I fought hard as Russia but there was not enough help and Russia fell. I had two good counter offensives and two very good goal line stands,  not enough I need to figure out what to say to them to have try to help. other than “hey I could use some help here” or “there’s no way I can hold them back I need help”
  I hope Russia is a bit more resilient with the A3 set up
  The German turn 2 was when the attack started
  It was a good game and they had some outstanding dice 11 out of 13 hits and 8 out of 9 hits and I think they had one that was 12 out of 14.  The dice won the game for them

Ironically though, everytime I have seen a game where France didn’t fall, it’s ended up an Axis Victory anyways.  I wonder if it has to do with the allies overcompensating, and trying to actually hold on to france aswell…

I haven’t ever bought Navy as Russia…everything Russia needs to do can be done without a Navy. Given time I would pour some troops into China to slow Japan down. As for builds I build a mix of guys tanks and atrilley for the guys. And depending on the situation if Germany doesn’t attack turn 4 I would strongly consider attacking them.  Also I put my guys and aterilly on the border with Germany and put my tanks one back so that I can move them up with the attack if I get to attack first but also so I don’t lose them if Germany attacks first. Honestly every turn that Germany doesn’t attack is a gift to Russia because it allows them to build up more forces which makes them tougher to take.
