Need help with current rule of SBR of AB/NB

Only on triplea have I had the pleasure of successfully pulling off Sea Lion. I’d love to do it on a table top game. The most recent time I had I think 8 tanks standing. No loss of aircraft as hits (2 fighters due to an AAA gun hit). I left the tanks there to really make it costly for the US to liberate London. My team won the game…London didn’t get liberated until like round 11. It was a very long game.

I prefer Barbarossa, but if the UK hands London a silver platter because it got too aggressive…then it needs to get punished. I don’t care what anyone says, no allies player like the advantage of London being knocked out for several turns. I’m not going to G2 purchase of a Sea Lion if several factors occur of course. But if Sea Lion is done right, the US has to respond and Japan has the chance to rage. Also, if Germany DOWs at the right moment, Russia can be pushed away from E. Poland (which I think is the critical position to keep Russia from getting to). They will come back, but then Germany might have the chance to get in position to start pushing Russia back from the border territories. Scandinavia might fall for a time being. Private Panic mentions losing a battle with favorable odds. That’s not going to occur on a regular basis.

If the UK gets really aggressive in it’s spending in the middle east UK1 and Sea Lion doesn’t occur, then in those situations I have a very difficult time overcoming a substantially large stack of UK fighters.

It would be even more effective if the US could spend its money to build bases on Allied territory, regardless of whether or not the US owned the territory.

For that matter, the US should also be able to produce units at the factories in France (as a whole) on its turn even after France (the territory) has been liberated. Historically, the US provided everything for the French army after the liberation of Paris – the French could not supply their own army at all after Paris was liberated.

Improved Shipyards: Change the IPC cost of cruisers to ‘9’.

I need to ask someone since the rules on larry’s site had too much ambiguity.  If russia declares war on japan and attacks a japanese terr (whether boardering Mong or not) then LATER if japan attacks a russian terr boardering Mong, does Mong turn russian?  (basically, russia started the war)

It doesn’t matter whether USSR and Japan are at war, or who started it.  What matters is attacks against territories that border Mongolian territories.  If USSR declares war on Japan, but does not attack any Japanese-controlled territories that are adjacent to Mongolian territories, then Japan attacks a USSR-controlled territory that is adjacent to a Mongolian territory, Mongolia will still ally itself with the Soviet Union.

According to Larry’s most recent posting the US NO’s are below.  So the US only gets their starting 35 IPC’s and then add the NO’s below when at war, correct?  Nothing else.  We are under the impression it was 35 starting plus 30 when at war PLUS the NO’s on top of that 65 for a possible 90+depending on the NO’s accomplished.

United States
When at War
1. Collect 15 IPCs per turn for complete control of the continental US and Mexico (WUS, CUS, EUS).
2. Collect 5 IPC per turn if the Allies control 5 of the 7 following islands. Midway, Wake, Marianas, Iwo Jima, Caroline, Solomon Islands and Guam.
3. Collect 5 IPCs per turn for controlling the Philippines
4. Collect 5 IPCs per turn for controlling Hawaii, Alaska, the Aleutian Islands, Line Islands, and Johnston Island
5. Collect 5 IPCs for turn for controlling Southern Mexico, Central America (Panama)and the West indies

You are correct.  It’s the base 35 (assuming they still own all of their original territories that comprise of that 35 ipc’s), plus 30 for being at war, plus whatever amount per NO they have fulfilled for that turn.

Incorrect; the +30 was originally an NO that was split into the NOs listed. Thus, the US collects 35+NO’s for whatever they have.

Argh, I can’t keep up with the continuing changes to the OOB rules.  /sigh.
