I must say I did not like that way of rolling the dice, as it doesnt comply with rolling real-life dices.
You made it so that you tac bomber had 50% of surviving instead of 33%. Odds should be like this 33%allies win 33%draw (you keep tranny) 33%axis win. Id gladly trade my cruiser for the tac you know.

I didn’t get it the first time I saw it either, but it doesn’t change the outcome. Instead of rolling 1 attacker die and 1 defender die over and over, first to hit does it 10 times in a row. It isn’t 20 dice being thrown at the same time - they are read as 10 pairs of dice.
On the first roll I got a 2 and you got a 5. Since I scored a hit the battle is resolved. If we had both got 4/5/6, then we would look at the second pair of dice.
On the second pair I would have got 1 and you would have got 3. In that case the tac and cruiser would both die and the tt remain. If we had both got 4/5/6 again, then we would have gone to the third pair, etc., until someone dies.
If you had got a 1 and I got a 6 on the first throw, then my tac and transport would be gone.
First to hit is a common way to resolve battles that are 1 unit against 1 unit. Otherwise we can wind up posting 1@3, 1@3, 1@3, all day long and it can get ridiculous.
