Our gaming group has come to the conclusion that some bid is needed to balance the game for the Allies. In reading through the posts it seems to me that the general consensus is that the Allies need a bid of about 9-12.
My questions are:
Is a bid of 9-12 the current and reasonable amount? As we will not want to bid for a particular side, we will set a certain bid point for each game and then let people choose which side they want to be as some Players enjoy playing particular Powers. So what is a fair bid?My group usually goes 10-15, some where in the ball park of 8 to 14 is what everyone does.
Is this bid added as starting income to be spent on Turn 1?What Siparo said.
Is this bid added as units and money such as the Revised FIDA bid?Never played revised, and what is FIDA? Another government agency?
Is this bid added as units on the board with remainders as starting money?Siparo doesn’t do it, but my group allows it.
For any units placed on the board are there any restrictions? For example:
a) Must have a unit already in the territory / sea zone?
b) May not place more than X number of units? My group has 3 rules:
1. Must be one unit per territory/seazone.
2. Can only be placed in a territory/seazone where you already have units occupying it.
3. Can only be a unit that power has access to (china can be inf and art only).I would appreciate your kind thoughts and comments. Thank you…

these are all final?

Yes, I no longer will be working on these or updating them. They are, to my knowledge, fixed of any critical errors and are ready to be deployed in the battlefield. :)
Happy Gaming,

Wow, these are super, muchos gracias :-D
And now KICKS SELF FOR NITPICKING
-United States card: NOs #1 and #4 the word ‘Sovereignty’ spelled wrong (extra ‘i’)
-UK card: UK (London) operations: the phrase ‘exclusively only’ seems redundant, just ‘exclusively’ would do (same on India card)
-UK card: the word ‘Canadian’ spelled wrong (extra ‘n’)
-Japan card: NO #1 the word ‘resource’ spelled wrong (second ‘s’ instead of a ‘c’)
-ANZAC card: wording of NO #2 seems weird ‘Strategic cornerstone - to far East British Empire’. Does this miss the words ‘Malaya considered’?KICKS SELF AGAIN

I played 3.9 this weekend, thanks for the new setup!!
Does anyone have the 3.9 for abatlemap? We have some problems playing Russia, always loosing Moscow on G5. I have to really plan Russia in detail next time. Perhaps giving up all territory without fight to germany, and stack in Moscow, hoping for the sibirain forses to arrive in R6. Or something… At the moment we dont know how to respnd to the German panzar/luftwaffe angriff… So I have to do my homework…

Bloody awesome cards, changed the speed of our last game :)
Just one note on the Soviet Union Card, the Mongoian-Soviet defensive pact should read (for 2nd edition):
“If the Soviet Union attacks Korea or any Japan-controlled territory bordering these Mongolian
territories while Mongolia is still a strict neutral, Mongolia will remain neutral and not ally itself with the Soviet Union.
In all other respects and for all other purposes, the Mongolian territories are treated as any other strict neutral territory.”The card is missing the reference to Korea (the ones I have printed do anyway). The above is copied and pasted from 2nd edition book.

anychance we will see an update (soon) for these charts to match the tweaks made on the 2nd eddition game?
-
These are great! They are especially helpful for newbies, and for those of us that can’t tell the difference between a cruiser and destroyer.

Is there a USA eastern setup Chart?
-
Bit of a noob when it comes to mods so forgive me for a possibly stupid question.
Is this a self contained mod. We use all the normal book rules but use the revised setup charts and changed NO?

Does any one want a set of these? I just had some made by the copy place my work uses. I asked them to print out a copy of each on high quality photo paper. I told them there were ten images I need printed and I ended up with 10 copies of each image :? :-o.
If it’s in the USA I’ll just send them to you. I won’t charge anything, but if you wanted to shoot me a couple of bucks for shipping I wouldn’t say no ;)
Just PM me and let me know if there’s any interest.

Have been getting confused by all the variants out there, is this concurrent with the second ed. games?

no, unfortunatly not
(for that reason I’m working on 2nd Ed charts… I’ll post them some time in august) -
Guys, I saved all these pics to an external hard drive. just wondering - where can I take them to get laminated? not sure how that part works. I don’t own a printer.
-
If you have a Kinko’s type place nearby, you can just take your external hard drive there, and they can usually print and laminate stuff for you right there (for a price of course).
