Brando, why would you leave 1 inf in each territory? The only ones that matter are rostov and Baltic States. You will lose 6 ipcs in units for not much gain in epl/bess.
I leave 1 Inf in each territory, so the Axis/enemy can’t just walk in. Inf have a 33% chance of a hit. Prevents a country from just taking a territory w/1 Inf. Usually the attacking country has to attack w/2 ground units, just in case your Inf gets a hit. Also prevents the enemy from sending just one ground unit on a long walk across your territories(i.e. when Japan starts marching across the Soviet Far East). I don’t always do this. Like in China, I consolidate the Chinese Inf whenever possible. But in Russia, I always try to leave at least 1 Inf in each territory. One thing to point out, I don’t leave 1 Inf in each territory, unless the enemy has a chance to take that territory.
Because they only have a 33% chance to hit, I would not want to risk giving away nearly free infantry kills to Germany unless they are defending something valuable. Each infantry you put in his way is 1 less body defending something critical for a 33% chance to kill 1 thing.
It’s not just a 33% chance of killing something. It’s making the enemy commit more than 1 Inf/1 ground unit to take the territory How would this hurt a country like germany that will have mechs constantly reinforcing and the positioning does not screw him?. Maybe you didn’t read my entire post. Again, I don’t always leave 1 Inf behind in each territory(i.e. China and other territories) Japan can just send 1 inf and air, it really won’t hurt him if he wants to.. However, leaving 1 Inf behind on such things as islands, even 1 IPC islands. Your enemy would most likely have to commit at least 2 ground units to take the islandIt depends on the value of the island and the likelihood he/she would go for it.. Therefore, forcing your opponent to commit more resources to take territories and have less units to use elsewhere. I understand what you mean, but this is also a game of economics and efficiency. If your opponent does not need to go for it, or is not even affected by it, the one infantry won’t be an issue.Like I said in my explanation, Soviet Far East is a good example. There are 13 IPC’s from Soviet Far East to Vologda/Samara. If your strategy is to leave these unguarded for Japan to just take w/1 Inf, then go for it. In my opinion, over the 26 years I’ve played A&A, it’s the wrong stategySince russia can easily stop japan from taking it unless Japan commits more to the front, it really is not an issue. Also, with mongolia, it won’t be unguarded.
Final Global setup!

Can’t open it either…but the changes listed are all the changes, right?
-
As this was a public playtest effort, there are two kinds of people: those who participated and those who shouldn’t complain about the results.
Thanks to all of those who participated!
A rare show of emotion, I LOVE IT.

So there will not be any more Alpha’s or setup changes in the future? This is the final version which will be released in the second print?

@Young:
Incredible,
+2=pro allies
+3=pro allies
+3.5=pro axis
+3.9=pro alliesNo experienced player will ever lose England again, and Germany’s only option seems to be a drive toward Moscow
Don’t you think it’s a bit early for that kind of statement ?
Since Russia can attack Germany as soon as UK falls, maybe we are going to see  more G4 Sealion with less than 13 transports…

Perhaps, but I’ve always had an extreme personality. If sealion is still on the table, it might be a round or two later, with more resources required, and more loses taken.

Lol.
But you are right.
There are 2 kinds of people: those that will buy the next Axis & Allies game and those that won’t.
-
Their are actually three kinds of people in the world… @#$%s, !&()s and aholes…
You know where im going with this if you’ve ever been fortunate enough to watch “Team America: World Police”

I try to use as many of my German units in the combat phase during G1. However, unless I attack Russia G1, I will be simply repositioning many of my valuable units in the non-combat phase giving myself a better setup for G2. I’m leaning toward a G1 Russian attack, but I would like to hear from those that play tested these changes and what their results were.

Is it the final setup… Or is it not…
Will there be a Alpha Final +1? hehe -
Is it the final setup… Or is it not…
Will there be a Alpha Final +1? heheThe answer to your question is always the same, it’s 99% final (the same answer two modifications ago). My suggestion is, when you see a second edition of global on your game store shelves, that’s when it will be 100% final.
-
i hope it is final enough that any future change can simply be done with a bid, just like all the other games……
-
Krieghund did say it is final.
-
After looking at the board for a couple of hours, 1 Strategic Bomber, 1 Fighter, and 1 Destroyer sounds like a good first round buy for Germany.
-
I would argue 2 strats and a sub. Really bomb the hell outta london starting rd 2. and hope for bad aa dice.
-
Wait do they get more land troops?

TripleA G40 please!

So the New Russian NO say each original German, Italian, and Pro-Axis. Does that include the Italian Territories in Africa, and the ones with no IPC. Hmmmm Originally this NO was just Europe centric–- did it just expand?
-
Its not Europe specific
-
If the Russians can get to North Africa, they deserve a bonus.
