gh2, the combined Italian fleet was all at bay in Taranto minus few units (submarines and destroyers) near Somalia.
I didn’t delete the 3inf in Greece. I’ll also update UK ncm to Sudan.
-
Well for reference the Regia Marina (yeah not all stationed at Taranto) was made by:
6 capital ships, 19 cruisers, 59 destroyers, 67 torpedo boats, and 116 submarines.
From Wikipedia
The warships of the Regia Marina had a general reputation as being well-designed. Italian small attack craft lived up to expectations and were responsible for many brave and successful actions in the Mediterranean.
The problem is that Mussolini didn’t want to spend oil to mobilize the fleet so he always kept all the units at bay.
In my opinion he joined the war thinking it was ending soon, and he didn’t want to lose units. /facepalm
-
In addition, the battle of Taranto didn’t happen until November 1940 and this game starts in May of 1940. The ridiculously compressed time scale led Larry to the conclusion that the English needed to be able to attack R1. Anybody have any games where R10 felt like 1945?
I agree that the Italian looks under-represented, but you would probably have to also increase the number of English naval units as well, to scale things.
