The Complete G40 Set!?! Aw man, that’s going to be a while. I know they are making the mould for Germany and assuming they get this one right the first time (no defects in the mould like what happened with Italy), I think it takes roughly a month or so just to get the mould made at the foundery then shipped back to the factory. Then the factory has to get with Jeremy to choose the right plastic and color. Once that is done, they can go into full production.
With Italy, they went into full production about June 6 and were finished by the end of July or beginning of August. Then they had to package them all up onto skids for the freight company and arrange for the freight company to go get them which I guess took another couple of months or so (early Aug to Oct 9/10). Then the ocean voyage, customs and transit to FMG hopefully by Halloween.
So, if Germany goes by roughly the same schedule and they have the mould ready by late November/early December, I would figure full production starting early-mid December, possibly finished by early-mid February (minimum 1000 sets ordered). Packaging and pickup by freight company roughly mid-March and , with any luck, at FMG by April. Now, this is just a wild guess by me just going by what happened with Italy. Actually, I’m hoping that I am wrong and everything goes smoothly and the German units get here even sooner. After all, they sort of “cut their teeth” with Italy so maybe it will go a little faster, not just with Germany but with all the future nations.
As for USA, it’s still in the sculpting stage so I have no clue as to how soon they will go into production.
Next FMG SET

We know that FMG will be producing the Germans both in Black and Gray and US troops will follow. My question is if you had the choice to make, which Country would you want FMG to produce next?
-
I chose France because, other than the now out of print Europe 1940, no French Units exist in any of the Axis and Allies line of games.
-
I chose France as well. My reason is that they don’t have any French equipment except for the Infantry. I would really like to have French units with real French equipment, even if France does usually get knocked out in the first round.
Last I heard from Jeremy, they plan to do England next. At least the OOB British units are uniquely British, except for the destroyer, submarine and transport ship. -
Hopefully, this poll will influence them one way or the other which way to proceed.
-
I thought FMG already had a schedule in regard to the national order of production :?
-
Yeah, here is the list that Jeremy gave us a little while back:
Italy (done)
Germany (In Production)
USA (In Sculpting)
UK
ANZAC
Canada
Japan
Soviet Union
France
Commons Set (air bases, naval bases, major & minor ICs, etc.)Personally, I would like to see France next, with Japan running a close second. Also interested in Russia. Guess I’m just not as interested in the Brits.
One good thing, ANZAC and Canada are going to be British sculpts in different colors, which makes sense since both used mostly British stuff. So once UK sculpts are finalized and gets produced, ANZAC and Canada should go pretty fast. -
Maybe France can leap frog past the brits to a quicker production!
-
France, as there are no dedicated French units to be had other than inf.

This should be the background music for FMG’s upcoming youtube introduction to their newest German set:

Wagner’s Prelude 1 to Act I of Parsifal!!! Skip to 05:23 and you will hear the thunderous entrance of the Panzers as they are ushered in to the accompaniment of French horns and other brass: Priceless!
-
I am starting to agree that FRANCE should get a Bump. I need UK to go first however.
-
Yay!!
For UK, please do a King George the V for a BB.

-
Ausgezeitnet!!!
-
Well, count me in for a UK set then. And definitely count me in for a French set.
Richelieu for a BB!

Richelieu for a BB!
Oh yeah, the French BB definitely has to be the Richelieu. A while back, I was heavy into building models, my favorites were 1/350 scale battleships. So far, I have the USS Missouri, the Bismarck, the Yamato and the HMS Prince of Wales. I saw a 1/350 scale Richelieu somewhere, but they wanted over $200 for it. That was just too much for me.

Nice! But I vote for the Koeniggraetzer March! One of the most popular German war marches ever and one of Hitler’s favorites, although it existed prior to the Nazis. It’s the one that was playing on Indiana Jones & the Last Crusade during the Nazi book burning rally! Awesome march…
-
I voted for the UK - but I’d love to see Japan up there too.
Given that Germany is released next - Japan will finish off the Axis side so I like the thought of all FMG pieces for half the game being complete.
-
My vote went to Japan, let’s have the axis powers completed first, then move on to the Allies.
