Hi All
This is our 3rd battle of Long Island and 4th event at the church. We have had between 15 and 26 people. It is in Whitestone Queens NY from 10am till 10pm or so. Lately most are playing Global 40 2nd edition with bid for allies. We have an undefeated team that also has the 1st, 2nd 3rd place finishers from the WBC. We welcome less experienced players. We are starting to do match ups and records if you like. Mostly have Fun and Play hard with other great Axis and Allies People. In the past we played the Anniversary Game, 1914, Spring 42 and the Revised edition lately mostly global 40. Bring a team, join a Team or if your a veteran and play fast you can run an entire board. We have a Fridge, light snacks served, plenty of parking, we ask for 10.00 for the church. Last time we had a guy sell old games, flea market is welcome but it is about playing. If you are on a team you can play in 2 games at once. Save Sat. 23rd for this…!!!
Any questions
Joe
FMGC 2012 - Gaming Convention - GTA CANADA

I was thinking about bringing Battle Cry if anyone would be interested in playing that

I was thinking about playing a joke on you by explaining how the convention got cancelled, but that would have been to cruel.

I land at 12:01am EST (but it will be like 9:01pm for me). I’ll probably get to Oshawa by 1am (which is still only 10pm).
1. Who is staying at the Best Western?
2. Anybody else going to be awake at 1am because of the time difference? -
I’m getting kinda nervous about all this, it’s a 10 hour drive across the US-Canadian border for me. I don’t know why, I’ve been to China a half dozen times and I’m worried about going to Canada, go figure! :?

LOL the hard part will be getting back into the US.

I promise you it will be well worth the drive. Can’t wait to see you all there!
AAA.org Group photo in front of the Sherman will be a feature of the new FMGC site launched this year.
Just wait to see the pile of DOOR PRIZES that have stacked up.
Regestrations have been flowing in over the past few days.
Im also giving an extra door prize ticket to every FMGC member that visits the TANK Museum… DOUBLE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING!

IMPORTANT: whatever happens… make sure you are here between 2-3pm on Sat!!!
Bring a jacket or coat… weather is taking a small dip (Eh… its Canada!)

I’m working until 17:00 ish Friday and then Ray and I are driving up. Should be there around 20:00-21:00. Didn’t book a room yet, figure we’ll grab one when we arrive, then start drinking, heavily. Looking forward to meeting you all.

Just booked my room at the Best Western, registered yesterday. Looks like Saturday is going to be rainy, muscle car stays in the garage and the large Spring 42 map is coming with me and the Jimmy, oh and my pal Gibson
-
You better buy another bottle, that’s not even going to last you half of the drive up. :)
-
Put me down for a museum run on monday! I’ll take my “doubled” chances!

Just a “side Note” on drinking at the Event:
There will be a Bar open on Saturday run by the 420 Wing…. but after it closes the event is “technically” Alcohol free (we don’t have a licence).
That being said: Marshals will Look the other way IF you don’t make it to obvious. Mix your drinks in your car etc… and bring an empty Drinking mug or Soda Bottle.
The above message is UNOFFICIAL and I will deny ever making it

just like high school

@Vance:
just like high school
Especially if the fuzz show up.
-
I volunteer to hold them off whilst you guys escape.
If I can keep any pending charges, to WITHIN the province, all I have to do is get out :). EASY.

Pity Canada is not ‘tail-gate party’ friendly. I’m surprised the US is so tolerant being a somewhat more litigious nation than Canada. I would never ‘cut the grass’ of 420 wings sales. Personally, I was thinking of when I was back at the hotel room to drown my poor dice sorrows! That’s me story and I intends on sticking to it. Forecast is looking up, might be trading the large '42 map for the muscle car!

Ontario is a police state.

I was hoping to pick up some Canadian craft beer (none of that Molson or Labbatt crap) on the way in (as my other alto ego is a craft beer enthusiast/expert @beer47) but I get in too late to hit the spots in Toronto on Friday night.
Are there any good bottle shops in the Oshawa area. Is the LCBO #776 in Pickering really the closest to the event?
I was planning on just having this after the event but is there some new BYOB policy?
