I was hoping you wouldn’t bring the planes back. If you didn’t it was over for you. You did the right thing by bringing them in and wasting no time in bringing the Siberian units in as well. Most players I see differ with them and by the time they try to race them back it is too late.
There are some buys and minor movements I would change to improve my odds here. I think I can change this so I approach Moscow turn 6 instead of turn 7.
Here goes my 2% chance.

44 hits? Wow …
I surrender.
-
:-o
Damn.
It was an uphill battle to begin with, though.
Frankly though, I don’t think Germany should be able to take Moscow on Round 6-7 with good play from both sides.
The fact that there was a very real possibility of it happening really makes me contemplate Alpha 3’s balance.
If it were possible to take Moscow in that kind of time, what could the Allies really do to help Russia?
Landings can’t really happen in anywhere except North Africa in that amount of time.
It was fortunate I was able to destroy so many of Germany’s infantry in the first couple rounds of Germany’s invasion. -
A good game though. :-)
-
It wasn’t soo uphill. If you couldn’t bring in those allied planes, I had an 86% of taking Moscow. I think I can make a turn 6 attack happen with some tweaks. You countered properly, of course.
Jenn has challenged me. She thinks she can take India and London by turn 3. Want in on that game?
-
I have to ask - if for some reason, I couldn’t bring in those extra fighters, or you did manage to make a turn 6 attack happen, wouldn’t there be a problem in that? Because if Russia couldn’t hold off Germany for just 6 turns by herself, I would think that’d be a real balance issue.
Because of the additions to Germany and what has been taken from UK, I do believe that a G3 Sealion is significantly easier than it used to be. However there’s no way that Jen’s claims about India are right. I’d certainly be interested in looking further into it. What do you suggest?
-
Don’t get me wrong. Egypt is the weak link in my strategy. And I did give up quite a bit to plow through into Russia with Japan - which I think is the way to go.
With Egy, I was barely going to hold it, and then the Trj blew up in my face. I’m confident I can be in a position to attack Moscow turn 6, but I don’t think the odds will be much better than 60% on a good day. I’d have to try it again.
In any case, up for whooping Jen? I don’t see India falling, and a turn 3 Sealion I’m confident I could make unpleasant for Jenn (barring dice, like those 44 hits we just saw.)
-
As for UK, what was taken away? AAs added to London and a bmb. The only thing I see taken of significance is the fht from Normandy, and that was killed G1 anyway.
-
The most significant change regarding UK was the removal of the forces in France in conjunction with the addition of German equipment - the Bomber and extra Armor.
Now Germany can hit Normandy, 110, and 111.
Or Normandy + 111 + 109.
Or all of France plus 110. While losing even less ground troops than before. It’s ridiculous.
A G2 bombing run on UK significantly increases the threat of Sealion, as well.In any case, up for whooping Jen?
Absolutely. :-D
